Band Website Comments

Post by Henrietta »

I just built a website for the latest incarnation of my band.

http://www.riograndiose.com

I'm looking for any comments and suggestions for improvements, be it visually, functionally, or content-ally.

Thanks in advance! :)

Sweet site. Love the color scheme. Very classy.

Two nits:
1) "This content will evolve & expand over the next few months" is such a tired line for websites. Sort of like "listen to all options because our menu has changed". Let's face it, you're not going to hire a team of editors to thrill and amuse us everyday.

Instead, just go ahead and say how psyched you are "to be able to bring you information on shows, news, photos, music clips, and etcetera."

2) Links is missing at least one significant one :)

There's a typo in the main blurb. "truely" should be "truly".

dunno if it's important to anyone else, but the webpage doesn't use much of my screen real estate being in its own little box.

i think "this content" line is ok for the first news bit, which will only be on the front page for a short time. just don't put one of those "under construction" banners on the site, and don't add that line to the front page permanently :)

looks good in general.

didn't know jenny was a man... "As frontmen for the Highland Mountain Boys, Johnny & Jenny performed together in Denver's top venues" :)

Thanks for the feedback, and double thanks for catching my bad spelling.

Indeed, Jenny is not a man. ;) "Frontpersons" sounded kinda weird though.

Yes, that was my #2. I didn't have the heart to call it out loud.
