needless to say, my song would be considerably better if I could cop out and make it instrumental; as it is you'll all be treated to half-arsed vocal takes interrupted by unwanted visitors walking right up to the mic and saying "oh sorry, were you recording?". bastards
if only i had an underground lair especially for doing vocals

I recommend a person smoking dope making a scathing commentary about the successor to the rake who is interrupted by a jackass friend asking about color preferences. And make it dancey.Furrypedro wrote:plus I'm having difficulty deciding whether I want this to be a scathing critique of the successor to the rake. or just about smoking dope.

I'm making my (not so) triumphant return to SongFight in the How Do You Like the Colors fight, if I can find some quiet time to record my damn vocals. Silly dorm life. I've also managed to somehow significantly change my style and genre of music with each of my entries... Maybe I'll try to see how long I can keep that up.
Leaf Blower
I'm doin' Leaf Blower...don't be too harsh on my drumming...only been doing it for a little over a year...and as Ferris Beuler once said, "Not one lesson!"
Oh, and unfortunately, I DID do a rhyme with Lawn Mower...oh well....

I'm going to have to take back my reply that said I was doing Leaf Blower for this songfight. I didn't end up coming up with anything.
I had a good idea for a chorus, or at least part of one. But finding the rest of the song proved too much this time around.
Leaf Blower seems to be the overwhelming favorite this time, so looking forward to what people come up with.

From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style.

I only have one groupie. Sometimes she's a gropie... not that I'm complaining.
Well, I gotta say, it looks like Gert is in... I was struggling yesteday trying to get my parts down! First my secondary mixing board was fried, so I had to go to the store and borrow one (my main board is still on quadra island with my band for practices) then my electronic kick drum trigger broke, so I set up the accoustic bass drum ( I really don't enjoy playing roland drums...but I got neighbours now... still need to get the soundproofing done...) and I couldn't figure out midi... yes, I am midi intolerant... a horrible condition, but I found a good creme and it's all cleared up. So the drums are half roland, half accoustic.
I wouldn't have tried, but with a title like leaf blower, I had to get in on something so I skipped out on work to lay down my tracks!
I hope to be more adequately set up in the next few weeks... I'd love to do some more collabs later... molsen twins, bloody hams, and so much more... so when I can drum good and proper...I'll let those that care to know know..
Getting ready for some good tunes this week people..don't disappoint!

I managed to start four attempts at "Colours," all of which I abandoned half-way in; plus one very ill-concieved attempt at "Leaf Blower" at about midnight last night that I instantly recognised as total dreck and quickly euthanised.
But that is a significant improvement over all those weeks I didn't start anything, so it's not a total loss. Maybe this upcoming week I'll get two-thirds of a song before I decide that I hate it.
Looking forward to hearing what you guys have done.
