I've had one for months, and it IS as great as you think. You don't need faders, you just need to be able to start and stop from the next room. At least, that's my deal. Before switching to cakewalk, I used a USB extender cable and a Red Rover with Cool Edit Pro-- it worked, but had some data dropsy. The Tranzport just freakin' works, after a little bit of configuring.
