.. am a rapdily balding, gradually fattening 30-year old low-middle-management IT person who has been dorking around with guitars and tape recorders since I was 12; with only a small amount of improvement in recording quality, and musical skills peaking at approximately age 22.
Proof: This was recorded when I was 14:

The AC hum coming from various poorly grounded equipment is as integral a part of the recording as anything else. The stereo panning of the guitar part involved playing the open high E string with one hand while turning the pan knob on the mixer with the other hand. In all the years since, I've re-recorded that song a number of times but somehow it doesn't get better, it gets worse.
Once, long ago, I started studying for a music degree, but never finished.
I have a lot to learn about digital recording; I came from the school of thought in which you burn the hell out of your cassettes because distortion and compression up front is still better than having the music be softer than the tape hiss.
FLVXXVM FLORVM is a pseudo-Latin name derived from the Fluxus art movement.
