You are crazy. Let me spell it out for you: C-R-A-Z-Y. We (non-christians) do not give a shit about that stuff. IT IS CHRISTMAS. MERRY CHRISTMAS IS WHAT YOU SAY WHEN IT IS CHRISTMAS. This offends me about as much as someone from England would if he wished me a happy Guy Fawkes Day.posyden wrote:Sure seeing "Merry Christmas" in stores may make them feel good
but I don't think the Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, ect. population would like that very much
Let cake eat them.

First off..I'm not anti-christian...I respect the rights of others to believe in what they wish...all I ask is that they respect my right to believe in what I wish
also
The Jazz...
you personally may not care about seeing christmas advertised..and I know many non-christians (Including me) who don't mind either...but I've read about some complaints that some non-christian families have had...so my statement remains valid...
also..December 25th is the start of Chanukah/Hanukah..and is also christmas day..so Happy Chanukah is also what you say when it's christmas
and just a side note...Jesus Christ was born sometime around June/July...so Christmas being the "Birth of Jesus" is kinda incorrect
1337
I'm pretty sure they're clear on that fact.posyden wrote:I think that christians need to realize that they arent the only religion in the world.....
I'm pretty sure that's not what the stores want.posyden wrote:so that every religion knows that the store wants you to be happy....
Also, ponder this for a sec, will ya:

No, you made a blanket statement about the non-Christian population. If you had said that some people don't like seeing "Merry Christmas" in stores, then your statement would have been valid. Still, that is their problem that they have to get over their own damn crazy selves.posyden wrote:you personally may not care about seeing christmas advertised..and I know many non-christians (Including me) who don't mind either...but I've read about some complaints that some non-christian families have had...so my statement remains valid...
No, "Happy Hannukah" is what you say when it is HANNUKAH, which falls on KISLEV 25, not DECEMBER 25th. The fact that they coincide this year is called a coincidence.also..December 25th is the start of Chanukah/Hanukah..and is also christmas day..so Happy Chanukah is also what you say when it's christmas

1. If you are not anti-christian...thats fine but you could be a little nicer to those who are in fact Christian. Telling all Christians to "grow up" isn't very nice. It isn't even tolerant. Tolerance is a two way street.posyden wrote:the Jazz wrote:We (non-christians) do not give a shit about that stuff. IT IS CHRISTMAS. MERRY CHRISTMAS IS WHAT YOU SAY WHEN IT IS CHRISTMAS

2. Right, so if every tiny little complaint has to be honered then the already out of control POLITICALLY CORRECT machine will start to chomp all over everyone's right to live. What happens when non-christian folk are offended by 'happy holidays' because it gives them the blues. Where do we draw the line. We can't make everyone happy.
3. Yes, we're all pretty sure that the Bible doesn't mark December 25th as Jesus's Birthday. You really havn't torn the tent for the light to shine through on that one. Unless you know the exact date, can we please just celebrate it in December? Because, I would like to celebrate it sometime and right now we already do that on the 25th and I've been preparing all year.
I'm not spiteful. And I really hope that you don't take my words as 'in your face' or a big 'EF YOU'. They aren't meant that way. They aren't even typed in that tone of voice. I just hope that just as I'm tolerant of all other religions, that you might, just maybe, be tolerant of mine.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Are you sure your Christmas sucks?
Welcome to Christmas for the Dungy famly.
I'm sure there's thousands of unreported stories just like this one, every one of them as tragic.
Take stock in what you have, not what you don't, or for that matter, what you think you don't have.
Have a happy life everyone. God bless and keep you all safe.

Yeah, that sucks. Big news here and everybody is in awe about it. Tony Dungy is one of the most respected coaches in the NFL due to his reputation as a very nice guy blended with great coaching ability. If it is a suicide, then it's even more tradgec. Tony having the best coaching season of his career and just a few days away from Christmas. It's a terrible time for such a selfish act.
