wait until you hear it with the vocal track, which somehow got left out...
edit: wait, is it me? did you hear vox?
re-edit: ok, it was a weird connection that was actually causing left and right to cancel out, taking the vox right out...

If you're referring to the booming, pitch-shifted Vader voice (or is that Jabba?), yep, I'm hearing it in spades.Spud wrote:wait until you hear it with the vocal track, which somehow got left out...

"Shiny lightsaber will slice up my neighbor" indeed. Sounds like an idea for Glenn...
My God, this is so great...

Jedi Princess
lyrics by Spud and Mad Dog
after Frank Zappa
I want a happy little Jedi Princess
With a long flowing gown, and a cute little crown.
A funny little Jedi Princess
With a tinfoil bikini, that could mellow a meanie
Lonely inside
Well, she can just try to hide
I want a scary little Jedi Princess
With her shiny light saber, we'll slice up my neighbor
I want a steamy little Jedi Princess
With her oversized gun, we'll have lots of fun
Even though I too old
I just want a Princess to hold
I want a darling little Jedi Princess
Who don't know shit about cooking and is arrogant looking
A vicious little Jedi Princess
To strategically happen, her territory I'm mappin'
I'm all mixed up inside
I want to make that Princess my bride
I want a funky little Jedi Princess
A fighter; a biter; an Imperial smiter
A brazen little Jedi Princess
With that C3P0 and that damn Hans Solo
She is hanging with Luke
Even though he's my son, he still makes me puke.
I want a dainty little Jedi Princess
We'll have wild ride, over to the dark side
A fragile little Jedi Princess
Who will harness the force, for my Empire of course
With no Jedi knights
Won't someone send me a Princess tonight
Won't someone send me a Princess tonight
Won't someone send me a Princess tonight
Won't someone send me a Princess tonight

I sent out those reminder PMs and received a few confirmations that work is being done and almost finished. But has anyone heard from RxW? He tends to come and go on the board and seems to have done the latter.Niveous wrote:THC, I'm very happy that you enjoyed it.
Marcus, that was wild. I expected Glassjaw or UnderOATH, you went with Bjork. That was crazy. Thanks.
We are still waiting on songs from:
Phunt Your Friends (2 songs), RxW, Dre, Calfborg, and Blue. Good things are still ahead as this year's awesome GOM rolls on.

Wow, that sounds awesome. While I am confident my fellow songfighters will all get their gifts sent in, I still think if the spirit moves you that you guys should go for it, because I'd really like to hear that and I think others would to.Caravan Ray wrote:if my computer gets fixed next week - I am also keen to have a go at a song from Wreckdom's listAlbatross wrote: If WreckdoM gets officially "screwed", I'm all over the Puking Song.
The GoM is full of sweet sounding stuff, With "She's a Lady", "Walk like an Egyptian", "Head like a Hole" and "Jedi Pirnicess" as persoanl favorites. Oodles of awesome tracks, though, really, I should get to reviewing these.
Thanks to all for the kind words. I am most pleased that folks enjoyed Peace Train. You know, if there was a real Peace Train I'm afraid it would stink too much of Petuli and body odor for anybody to actually jump on it. You'd get a nice contact buzz, though.

Mine's in. I'm really sorry for the delay. I was actually done with it the day after it was due, but the computers were consipiring against me to prevent me from posting it. It turned out okay, and not better than that, unfortunately.
Eddie, thanks for the NIN cover. I love it! It's so much fun. I was hoping someone would take one of the popular-ish songs I picked and do something interesting with it. Nice job!

Well, # and RxW are in, so they weren’t Phil’s gifters…Niveous wrote:I'm telling you guys don't worry about Phil. I don't wanna give away who is doing his cover but they've done previous GOMs, and I have faith they'll get it done. I'm a little more worried about Tonamel, Eddiebangs, Feldspar and Wreckdom as I haven't seen their giftgivers around in a couple of days. I'm gonna drop the slackers PMs and see what's going on.
Can we worry about Phil yet? Looks like it's down to Dre, Calfborg and Blue... Two years in a row would really suck! Come on guys! Please.
We should also worry about Eddiebangs (he's hosting this after all) and Wreckdom (because everybody deserves a GOM in return)
It's been a week! Come on!

Again, I'm not worried about Phil. Here's a statement from his gifter:
"I have my cover pretty close to finished. I just have some final touches to put on it. I hope to have it finished by tonight. I just started back to college this past week and had a hard time making time for vocals and stuff."
With that said, don't worry about it.

I do want to do more Hell Yeahs stuff this year, but without Phil, the Hell Yeahs don't exist.

Ha ha! More than "Snake Eater?" I was actually considering doing that, but it would have been a thorough disaster. Glad you liked the Mum cover, and happy late New Year.Tonamel wrote: Green Grass of Tunnel was the one song I didn't think anybody in their right mind would try to cover

Phil hasn't gone anywhere yet, but I wouldn't blame him for not wanting to do any Songfighting anymore if he gets screwed again... which he won't be because his gifter is gonna come through!Niveous wrote: Why would it be without Phil? Where's Phil?

Yeah, really. GoM comes with a certain amount of risk. You may not be able to finish someone's gift, and someone may not your's. But like a good community, we can take care of those unfortunates. I would certainly understand not wanting to participate in GoM due to repeated lameness like this.jb wrote:WTF does this sidefight have to do with Song Fight?!
*frown*
To JB's point, though, GoM should in no way influence one's participation in SF, which has an entirely different rewards structure

Hey, Phil.
You would have had this Sunday night, but my interweb has been down for the past two days. Sorry it's late anyway. Plus, you get the first Calfborg recording using a mic that cost more than $10.
I wonder how pray for mojo is doing on my cover from LAST YEAR.

There's a reward structure???-kidding
I agree (like it matters) with the idea that GOM and SF are different things...on the other hand, this was my first GOM, and I ended up booking the whole weekend off to get it done, cause I figured (haha) I'd end up being the only one not complete, what with two months and all. The experience of having a tune I picked covered (fuckin awesomely too!), and the feedback from Sausage Boy on the one of his I did made for... well, a fucking cool feeling. So, I can see why Phil would be choked, he deserves that vibe too damn it!
Still, behind our computers is real life... hopefully the gift giver can sort those issues out and get er done.
...and the hipcola's version of the Bangles is sooooo fine. Had me singing the damn song in my head the other day though...arg.

Told ya not to worry, Phil & Heather.
We are still waiting on songs from:
Phunt Your Friends (2 songs), Dre and Blue.
A statement from PYF: "We're both supersorry. I've personally lost most all Inernet access as I've been living in New Orleans without a home. But that is not an excuse and my friends recently got to move into a dorm with Internet access and a computer so I promise to get a stellar cover up very very soon." So PYF's songs are coming soon. I haven't heard from Blue or Dre.
If anyone wants to do a song from anyone else's list, feel free.

Look, Calfborg came though, so all is good. My reasoning behind my statement is that Phil has always come through on sidefights like hxaro and GOM in the past... Nevermind. I shouldn't even be speaking for him. I'm glad his song is done!jb wrote:WTF does this sidefight have to do with Song Fight?!

Thank you Calfborg.
You're right about the "enter at your own risk" thing... yeah Songfight and GOM are separate. Whatever. I should learn to keep my mouth shut.

No I'm not fighting.
