I don't necessarily want it to be super loud, I just want it to sound good. The existing speakers in my van sound good, but I'm lacking low-end.
I was thinking of putting in a single 12" sub, and a small amp. I already have placement and all that squared away, all I need is an amp and a sub.
Cartoys quoted me something like $600 with labor, and I told them to fuck themselves. My last guitar was about that much, and my van isn't as important as a guitar.
So, I'm seeing all these subs on ebay for like $50. What's the deal with those? I found a couple amps on craigslist, which seem too good to pass up. I don't want to get shitty stuff that'll crap out in a month, but I don't want to pay greasy salesmen to fuck me either.
So, does anyone here know much about car audio? Brands, models, etc.?
