Waking Life

Post by Damien Verrett (Jonas) »

I just watched this and I absolutely loved it.

I heard it's the kind of movie that splits the audience pretty evenly. Half hate it half love it.

Have you seen it?

meh. the animation was the only cool part. it tried too hard to be really intellectual and deep.

so i thought the story/script sucked, but kudos for making a cool looking movie.

i just the said the same thing two different ways.

i have a tendency to repeat myself.

I'm glad for the P.K. Dick mention, but otherwise it's pretty bad. I like Linklater though.

I'm looking forward to A Scanner Darkly, I think it could be a far better realization of what Linklater was doing in Waking Life.

Yeah, I saw the trailer for that and that's why I decided to check out Waking Life.

I quite dig on Waking Life. For a while there I made a bunch of my friends watch it. I find it to be a better-made film than School of Rock, Slacker, Before Sun___, and Dazed and Confused all. The music rules, as well - JB is a fan of it, I know.

I like the gun part. The rest of get gets pretty old pretty quickly. But I'm glad they made a movie like that--a necessary milestone, and whatnot.

Waking Life is (one of) the most overrated movie ever.

Don't get me wrong, I liked it. But come on. Oooh, a little bit of rotoscoping and everyone is wowed. Really. It's an okay movie and people really need to stop giving it so much credit because it was slickly animated.

A Scanner Darkly looks much more promising.

I just watched it right before I made this topic.
