The judges will decide behind closed doors. We will list them up 25-1 then confer with each other (as juries do) and make our final decisions on elimination. If the judges need clarification- the 5 of us can discuss amongst ourselves.

No more tinkering with the rules and what not. We are so close to March, just leave it alone.

Back away from the game rules. Back away.

And the jury will think up titles.

Niv laying down the law with that avatar is particularly appropriate.

You are a condescending prick, and you suck at reading. I'm neither upset or confused by your plan, I was telling you what would happen if you implemented it. Yeah, accuracy is way more important than people having fun.

this is why i'm ready to walk away from this.

This sounded fun.....about 8 or 9 pages of thread ago.

I almost wish I had joined in the fray.

Ah what the heck. How about me fighting my way into this sidefight like they do in the NCCA basketball tourney. You know? I could be like the bubble entrant and if I win I'm in. Heck, how about making the whole thing like the NCCA tourney. Except, make it like a double elimination tourney. No wait. A TRIPLE elimination tourney! I mean you already got Mogosagatai writing programs. We could make that like the RPI index. That way the judges would have weighted scores so if they ranked someone a 25 but they had an RPI index of 3.2759856589 their actual score would be 81.8996414725. But if you ranked someone a 23 and they have an RPI index of 4.0126335689 their final score would be a 94.3605720847. So # 23 beats # 25. Except #23 would never be facing #25 in a traditional bracketed system and #25 beating wouldn't be an upset so of course this is all confusing and hypothetical.

Almost as hypothetical as this Sidefight flying they way it's supposed to.

OK, sorry for the sarcasm. If this thing does get rolling and you would like a 26th player, I would play as soon as I can find a picture that hides the scars on my face I got from the "tractor incident" and a song of mine I really like.

Those really are the only reasons I didn't get involved in this earlier on. On the good side the buildup has been entertaining as hell.

I agree with both Erik and Jack. I made the decision to put you on the jury Mogo. Don't make me regret it. Don't rock the boat right now. Let the game stand as is.

True. WreckdoM has one weirdly odd and frighteningly addictive avatar.

I predict that Nur Ein will be the longest thread ever.

I also predict that one of the judges will start to grow a little black moustache and begin involuntarily pointing at the sky with his right arm. Soon we will all be following, and the true meaning of Nur Ein will become clear.

Ve Vill Haff FUN!

Speaking of which; I know it kicks off in March, but is there a date yet? Impatience is a virtue. :)

You know, the LAST thing the council/panel needs is one more suggestion about how to do things, but...
It might be worth considering turning this thread into the NUR EIN Prefight thread, and starting a fresh one for the actual event discussion. So's we don't have to jump ten pages in to find the Week One stuff, y'know.

Hi, I’m Tex Beaumont and me and my band The Dirty Hearts* will be playing this little game here.

I am a figment of somebody’s drunken imagination, left now in the unenviable position of trying to recall why I was thought up in the first place. If I recall rightly, I invented myself after noticing that a certain antipodean Songfighter, who despite his obvious raw, sexual magnetism - seemed to have an anthology consisting almost entirely of uninspired musical caricatures attached to smutty innuendo and dick jokes.

Anyway – for the duration of this competition at least – I will endeavour to achieve some sort of musical and lyrical consistency, that may in fact be construed as some sort of “styleâ€

Sorry Niv, I didn't realize the judges were just supposed to reach a concensus (there had been talk of a scoring system, by yourself). I just needed some clarification, so I asked. (And then I offered an alternative to the system that you had vaguely hinted we might be using.)

This is gonna be excitin'!

I am more curious to know which one he's supposed to be?

I think all five could apply to me quite fairly.
