Just pm when the policy manual is complete so I can get on with getting ousted in round one because my stylistic preferences aren't cool enough.

C'mon Leaf don't be silly.

You should know the manual is way to big to PM you.

HAHAHA

Ive not been to these parts for the longest of times. There has been a bit of an issue with my conectivity. But upon my return I find this the mother of all sidefight threads, and the fight aint even started!!! The emphasis of NUR EIN is certainly on the latter half of SongFight.

This is gonna be great. I cant wait for all this to hit the fan so to speak.

I cant help wondering if NUR EIN is gonna turn into an amazing event of world class songwriting or a just fantastic bitchfest ...... an Ive no idea which Id prefer to see.

Keep up this most excellent thread

Oh yeh and Ive got a couple of rule change ideas if youre interested.

Okay, I started reading the first couple pages of this thread and got excited by the idea and then got overwhelmed by 10 additional pages of ranting. Can anyone give me a quick summation as to whether this is something that's going to happen or that has already happen and if so what the final method chosen was and where to sign up?

1) It's happening in the future.

2) There are 25 initial entrants, with songs judged by a jury of 5 (JoS, J$, jack, Mogosagatai, and Niveous), with some number of entrants off the bottom being eliminated each week by said jury by sneaky underhanded dealings behind locked doors in rooms filled with cigar smoke and psychological baggage.

3) It's too late to sign up, unless someone drops out maybe.

Someone drop out!

Can I have dibs on first opening if someone does drop out? Or is that already taken too?

Thank you ABAR for answering that question. And yes, KMS, you can have the alternate slot.

Hear ye, Hear ye!

It's March and the Nur Ein will be starting soon. The start date will be announced soon, I just want to talk to the jury members first and get the website up and running.

But I still need pic and song links from several of the competitors:
Deshead (pic)
Thornberry (pic and song)
Leaf (pic and song)

I don't understand what you need a song for. I thought this was a songwriting thing where you would supply a title. Feel free to pick your favorite songfight song of mine if you just need an example.

You can use this picture.

Can I get a rule clarification?

Say a fighter gets a cold and loses his voice. For the sake of example, let's say this fighter is me. Could I have someone else sing a song that I wrote and recorded? But then (assuming I wasn't eliminated) go back to singing myself for the next round?

If they do, I'd volunteer for you... but feel free to draw on the wealth of talented singers around here first and use me as a Plan B :)

TeeHee :) Certain vote winner.....!!

Well if you follow the American Idol model its tough, you suck it up and find song that allows you to still perform or tastefully withdraw. But let's wait for the Judges to comment
"You know, I rather like this God fellow. Very theatrical, you know. Pestilence here, a plague there. Omnipotence ... gotta get me some of that."
