Confession:
I have not done a single thing for this sidefight yet. Not one thing. But I have 7 hours till I need to leave the house tomorrow, and I will get something done. Bad week to start a sidefight for me. But I am not going out of this damn thing by just not submitting.

Songfighter since back in the day.
Well, my song's done. sent it to J$ for hosting.
I learned a new trick this week. Evidently if you match up the beat to the vocals, the song isn't so harsh on the ears.
Interesting!
...I don't really like my voice. you can totally tell there's spit in my mouth. blah.
Oh well, what can you do?
I'm quite proud of myself for actually putting something together, even if I am going to be out this round.
Or not, who knows.
...love me some handclaps.
...yeah, i know the song's short. time crunch, bad planning, my fault. *shrug*
hope somebody enjoys it.

My song has fake handclaps as well as real ones, and then for good measure some pitch-shifted real ones too. Yeah, I got the handclaps.

Nur Ein round One
Song done and submitted.
I'm proud of my use of handclaps.
Clarification question #86. - Is the second round title announced on the eighth day, same as the announcement of who enters round two? just curious.
Thanks,
Ross

I totally pitch shifted mine as well...also adding a little reverb...and stereo spread, and a little chorus, and boosted the lower frequencies, and a delayed a few over 30 ms ....i just couldnt have straight handclaps ya know...HeuristicsInc wrote:My song has fake handclaps as well as real ones, and then for good measure some pitch-shifted real ones too. My song is in and, though somewhat different, I'm proud of the old dear. Proud I tell you... Even though some will probably say: "That's a strange way to hand in your resignation."

Let me be the first to say 'I can't make this deadline.' I literally fell asleep recording last night & still have a couple hours of work left. I will still submit after its due but fully expect to be voted off. Here you go judges, your first chance to make an example of somebody! All of you kind, understanding.... & very attractive judges....

Now I found that a cricket bat worked better on buttocks, more of a slapping sound....strange isn't itTex Beaumont wrote:I'm finished - song uploading now - pencil me in for round 2.
BTW: I found I could get a fairly authentic 'hand-clapping' sound by rubbing my naked body with a mixture of warm honey and oysters and lightly tapping the buttocks of a close friend with a stick.

I JUST submitted mine.
Justin brought his drums over to my new house yesterday, and has given me permission to use them whenever I want to. Therefore, "Pencil Me In" can claim at least two firsts:
1. It's the first Glenn Case song to feature me playing real drums.
2. It's the first song recorded in our new house.
ROCK!
