Having the song due on the 6th day is what gives us 5 days to write, and having results on the 8th day gives two days for deliberation. If someone gave you an assignment on Friday and said you had one day to complete it, it would be due on Saturday, which would be day two. So even though we got five days to do the song it was due on day 6. So if the deliberation is due on day 8 that means the judges only get two days, from 6 to 7 and from 7 to 8. Then 8 become the new 1.

I like this because it means assignments and due dates will always be the same day of the week.

1. Friday

2. Saturday

3. Sunday

4. Monday

5. Tuesday

6. Wednesday

7. Thursday

8. Friday

Bummer to see you go Stuey.

WTF?

...but yes - the timetable here is definitley a harsh mistress. It seems that Wreckdom (and I assume # from the good old days) are the only fighters with form on the board for churning out the material week after week

But it's now Monday morning - and my song is 80% done (or to look at it another way - a song which isn't yet as good as I want it to be is 100% done) - so I'm quietly confident of hanging around another week

Is it better or worse if there were no drugs involved?

All I'm saying is, I think the timing was exactly as advertised in both time to complete the song and time taken to deliberate. Hard core time-frame, agreed.

Guys I was not protesting the timeframe. I merely commented that I (yes me personaly) had misundertsood it and that it is impossible for me with my personal work schedule to be able to make it work :-)

Good luck to all!!

Nonono.

Composition period: 1pmFriday - 1pmWednesday (5 days)
Judging period: 1pmWednesday - 1pmFriday (2 days)

This is a seven day schedule that does not overlap anywhere.

Inconsequential technical babling

Yes, I agree with you that there is no overlap. I don't believe I said that there was.
But you see that if you start counting on Friday as "The first day" the five day work period means that the song would be due (in a counting sense) on "the 6th day." This accounts for why one player mistook the deliberation time as 3 days even though what the rules state is, "On the 8th day."

Right. I agree completely. I think the wording is unnecessarily ambiguous, is all. But hey, now that we're into round two, and I've seen how it works, we can call it day seven or day eight and it doesn't matter.

I also agree with you that the due dates lining up on the same day each week is a good thing. My best recording opportunity of the week is Monday night, so it works out well for me.

In fact, I should be working on some Sleeper lyrics. Niv wants metal, and I'll do my best to provide. <<emetalcon

Damn!

Post by Ross »

Remember a couple of weeks ago when Glen (i think it was) asked what happens if you get a cold or something - damned if it didn't happen to me. However, I think I may have been able to capitalize on it for artistic effect. We'll see if I get any ability back tomorrow. [A song will be submitted iether way.]

On another note. Anyone else noticing their process changing during this fight. Rather than when I produce a product and putting it out for votes, I find my process changing a little when I know there is a threshold stake such as making it to the next round. It's pushing me, it's good.. Maybe that's why the first round was so solid???

Even though I was kidnapped by aliens over the weekend, and only returned last night - without my right arm and a large portion of my brain... I am still making every effort to finish my non rhyming round 2 entry.

Thank you.

C'mon Kamakura, you can do it!

I've got a submission for round two, such as it is. Good thing I've got immunity this week. I'm way out on the limb here.
