I'm in

Post by Ross »

My song submitted.

Note to judges: Some hiss came in as part of the file from my female vocalist. It gave me an additional non-optional mixing challenge. I encourage you to listen past the hiss.

Thanks.

I'm sure you can guess who supplied my opposite sex vocals for this. My song is done. A little different than what I usually do.

This is going to be an interesting round. Our song is quite different from our usual effort as well.

Mine is a little different than usual as well.

Including a vocal performance from Rachael that is VERY out of character for her.

ROCK!

It's great to hear that most people are breaking off of their normal gameplan for writing songs ... that's great. I'm definitely tuning into this round, even though I'm gone. I might do some reviews too.

"First off, I'm not in Nur Ein." First off I know. As you may have noticed if you cared about this fight, I have reviewed every song so far.

"Secondly, I wasn't drinking." Second off, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt.

"Lastly I don't know why you get off ridiculing me for actually caring about the fight and commenting about it. " Nothing else you have said in that post or any previous one in this thread had given the impression you knew what day it is let alone caring abour Nur Ein. This smacked of the latest in an occasional series of quasi-bi-polar 'looking for a fight' posts which previously you later regret and try and cover up with lame attempts at humour.

No, but I am one the judges, which you would know if you cared about this thread.

Christ, you talk such toss. If you want to fight about it, pm me. I care enough about Nur Ein not to want to litter it up any further here.
i dont know how you got to be a judge, cuz you sure dont' haver much good to say. your posting occsionaly sufers from a nazelly whine, kinda like another lamo guy around here. how important do you think u r>? cuz it sure reads like yer thinkn' ...real important. i dnt post much, but that's cuz, like you, i dont' usually have anything usefel to say. take a tip from me.

Wow. Anyone ever read Ridley Walker? The last post made me think of that.

EDIT: That's RIDDLEY Walker. I spelled it wrong. Now THAT's funny. :D

...uh... I'm totally enjoying the Nur Ein!

I haven't been this motivated to write stuff in a while... so thanks to Jolly R. for initiating the idea, and to Niv for making it happen, and to Johnny, Jack, Mossagatui...(fuck I can't spell YOUR name from memory...or spell for that matter...) for giving us judges. And JOS for dropping out...who needs ya!! (heheheh).

It's all in fun, and I'm having fun.

Oh, and, interestingly, I too have submitted something that is probably a bit out of character.. the debut of actually using functioning midi for one.. seriously, the first tune I've ever done (on my own) with midi. Did I mention I had fun?

Ross, that hiss makes the song!!!!!

I mean this as a compliment of the highest order: Your track sounds like it has existed forever. The song and arrangement have a timeless quality and sincerity that (IMO) puts it heads and shoulders above everything else in this round.

Just awesome.

yes! i agree with this. 99% of the nur-ein tracks have been great, but this one is somehow timeless.

Cool. I'm glad you feel that way. I also like the"vintage" sound that the hiss gives, but didn't know if others would hear it that way. I'm glad you do and I really appreciate your kind comments.

Sorry, but due to being shanghaied by real life I'm having to retire from the Nur Ein. I have really, really enjoyed it, will continue to be an avid listener, and can now finally finish my reviews for Sleeper.

There is a lot of stellar music coming out of this sidefight. Keep up the good work.

My thanks to Niveous, the Judges and those who review.

Cheers all

We lose 4 this round. Denyer & Kamakura are out. The BeWells have the sword of Damocles over their heads.
