Hey im looking for some realistic drum samples. I want to make a few drum loops for practicing but i want them to sound "somewhat" real. Any links or ideas. i dont have a drum set so i cant record my own.

I would recommend Fruity Loops or HammerHead Rhythm Station. HammerHead is a little easier to use, FL sounds better. If you use HammerHead you'll have to download the acousti drum samples separately.

many people like the samples from the pack called nskit. there's a free version available here. these are non-effected drums... realistic, yes.

On a related note, anyone know where i can get a good regular (or even standup) bass sound to use in FL or otherwise?

I use the BooBass plug in FL myself. There are a few that I've seen on rocketloops.com in the past. With Boo you can tune things in a basic sense and then add any measure of effects to tweak the sound. I've used it for some pretty decent basslines. Nothing like a standup though...

for drums, i use BFD. most real sounding drums i've heard.

for standup bass, i use spectrasonics trilogy.

both have really impressed me.
