And is there a way to reset the tempo to whatever the orignal wav file was?
there should be a tempo slider for the project in the lower left. also, if you right-click on a track info panel thingy on the left, there should be a selection for "set project to track tempo". i think that's where it is. i don't have the app here at work.

Ok, I've kinda given up on ACID for my purposes. I think Krystal does everything I want it to with much more simplicity. However, now I have one Krystal question (yeah right )...
Is there a way to loop a track, such as a drum beat or to otherwise copy it throughout the track without actually copy/pasting it over and over again? Something like that paint function in ACID? That was very cool.
Incidentally...I hope to soon be getting the Line 6 TonePort UX2. Does anyone here have this? And if so, how is the recording software that comes w/ that? I'm excited by its purporting to be latency-free.

My friend has a toneport, and the samples he sent me sounded really good. I don't know if it comes with recording software or not.

haha, if you thought acid was hard to figure out, live will be a treat. i don't really grok the interface, but if you have questions on that ask starfinger, he uses it for everything.

Set the clip as a one-shot, rather than as a loop.
Ugh, I'm having horrible latency issues. That or I just play REALLY off tempo, but I can't imagine I'm THAT off. And even if I were, I'd eventually get back on, so no...it's definitely latency. And I have a pretty fast computer. Any suggestions?

ASIO drivers. You will have a lot of latency recording using Windows drivers. What's your soundcard? If ASIO isn't natively supported by it, you can check out the free driverset ASIO4All, but I haven't used it... people say it works well.

I did it. I went and picked up a Tone Port UX2 this evening and I can't even describe the level of heaven I'm in right now. Haven't played w/ the tracking software yet, but the sound...oh the sound!
BTW...did you guys know that Guitar Center will match any competitors price? I found the UX2 for $164 online w/ free shipping and Guitar Center matched it! Cheapest I've seen a new one.

Yeah, GC is great about price-matching, and sometimes they even throw in extras the competitors don't. Like, when I was shopping for a digital piano, GC gave me the one I was looking at for the same price as an online competitor, and also threw in a really nice stand and bench (when the competitor was offering it with a free crappy stand).
They've also randomly given me free extended warranties on things too, not that it costs them anything and I've never had to make use of them but still, it's nice.

ASIO4ALL is like digital audio crack.
I don't even know what that means. I'm just saying that it's really good for latency issues.

Yeah, I can tell already it's gonna give me headaches. The TonePort software is very intuitive, but this recording software that came w/ it makes me dizzy. Like, this is the software specially packaged for the TonePort, but as yet I have no idea to actually record to it. On the upside, it looks like it has a good set of tutorials built into the interface. Pretty lame that it's crippled software though, only does four tracks.

I take back all that I said above. I've been playing with the interface for the last hour or so and I'm honestly having one of the best musical experiences of my life. There's a couple things i haven't quite worked out yet, but overall i'm more than pleased. I'm actually sitting here jamming away w/ myself and it sounds amazing (even if i don't )

Does anyone know if there are settings for the driver selection in Audacity? Or in Quartz? I'm trying to help a friend who's having latency issues and he has those two programs.

Audacity's sound settings are one of the many reasons I hate it. Not only does the OSX version not have any, but it also kept on forcing my sound card into 8bit 11KHz mono mode every time I pressed 'stop.'

I've switched to Krystal for the time being, since I'm needing the extra tracks for the song I'm working on. However I'm having trouble with something that's never happened to me in Krystal before. When I do the final mixed down, the wav file it generates is sloooowwwweeeeddd dooowwwwnnnn. Anyone else had this problem or anyone have suggestions?
