That's true with most dicks, Jack. However, I have seen asswads who will be a dick throughout the entire length of the party even though no one is paying attention to them or interacting with them. In same cases, it seems to make no difference. Our actions are irrelevant. The difference is, who has the power. If someone can actually tear down something you care about, then yeah, don't just sit back and watch him do it. Prevent people with power from abusing it. Otherwise, who cares? It's the guiding principle behind the actions of both the Borg and snobby cool thirteen-year-old girls, and those are two of the scariest groups I can think of.

This guy likes to talk about exactly one thing. The consequences of not responding to him are as follows: 1) he has no one to talk to.
