A note about my recording of "Sore Winner"
While recording the drums, I broke the bass drum head, and I was wondering how I was going to finish the song. Keep in mind that I am VERY new to drumming, the kit belongs to Justin (from my band "The Half Racks"... and yes, I fessed up that I did it, he was fine with it).
So, at first I tried to cover the hole with duct tape... no luck. Then I somehow got the idea to try to put a thick drumstick across the hole, and duct tape that to the drum head to see if that would work as a temporary solution. It did! So, the kick drum in this recording is being played on a broken drum head with a drumstick duct-taped across the hole.
ROCK!

probably the people who are supposed to be voting are quicker to catch on to these things than i am, but i'd just like to point out that i was a bit unsure at first what i was looking at (reading the jury's votes) -- whether it was rankings (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc) or what, but then i figured that the higher numbers went to the better songs, because the points were then tallied up that way. like i said, probably i'm the only one who didn't realise this, but just in case, i'd hate to see somebody forget and do it backward and accidentally not vote for their favorite song... $0.02Niveous wrote:Vote 3-2-1 just like the jury

Right. Also, I don't remember now, and I don't want to flip through miles of posts, but is it everybody voting or just those that were in the Nur Ein competition?

Wow! Thank you, Jim! Thank you, Leaf!
This was a fun competition. With every new round, I never knew where I was going to end up in the standings. I honestly did not know what to expect. I thought the non-optional challenges were particularly great.
I am at work, so I can't elaborate any further at the moment, but thank you for letting me be part of this competition. It was a very fun run.
ROCK!

I thought we had until Wednesday for some reason, so my votes came in too late.
Anyway congrats Glenn!
That's a real ironman competition there.

Tex forgot to vote.
But FWIW:
I loved Glenn's song - some great lyrics and good melody. Easily my favourite of his from the whole competition - way to bring the big one out at the business end.
Likewise another big one from Leaf - very catchy and poppy - great stuff - love the "blah, blah, blah" bit!
Calfborg - not quite with you this week - the great thing about your stuff here has been the diversity along with the quality. This sounds great - but just not my cup of tea. Looking back over the weeks of this competition and all the entries - you would be my winner on an aggregate basis. Your "Dont Go To" and "Condesending Prick" were real standouts. But this week...
So I would have voted:
3. Glen
2. Leaf
1. Calfborg
...so - I guess my vote really wouldn't have been that important
CONGRATULATIONS GLENN!
Thank you Jolly Roger
Thank you judges
Thank you Niveoous
Thank you competitors
