Cool Idea

Post by Reist »

So I was thinking that once I've got about 3 or 4 more voteless songs, there could be a cover fight to see if it's possible to make a Jolly Roger song good or even decent. Just an idea.

If anyone deserves a sidefight full of cover songs as a way to pity someone who never wins..... PICK ME! I have more songs to choose from anyway.
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

to the best of my knowledge, Heuristics Inc. should be given the most fights in with no wins honour.

At my count, 25 fights with no wins?

1) I know that some of these people have already had coverfights devoted to them.

2) I'm not counting Prayer for Pancakes as a win for the purpose of this list.

Here is a list of people who have more than 30 songs (under one alias) and no wins:

Eddiebangs: 31 entries
Blind Mime Ensemble: 32 entries
Idiot Kings: 37 entries
Caravan Ray: 39 entries
King Arthur: 45 entries

It was a joke directed at myself. I wasn't serious. STOP FIGHTING!
ps - King Arthur has never won? Wow. I actually like his songs a lot.

I was counting everything that the person had been involved in, and fluffy was in Elite Inner Echelon Blood-Circle for Elvis In Space, which won.

As for the Idiot Kings, I hadn't realised that there was no win there. Shame, really.

Blindmime is a fucking traversty! I remember thinking that his Quentin Tarantino so should have won.

Caravan Ray, he is an Aussie, from Queensland no less, so we can discount him.

I think if we're counting up individuals' losses then Egg's at 59. But anyway, no worries Roger, nobody's fighting.

I actually think it would be some hilarious fun to do a Rone coverfight. JR, you just haven't been devastaingly losing yet--you've gotten decent reviews here and there, people have kinda liked your stuff. You've gotta really stir it up to necessitate a so-bad-it's-good coverfight. And Rone, he can do that: He's like SF's greatest supervillain, in a way. Not in an LEF or gooberoo way, though.

Is there a comprehensive Eggography anywhere? I wanna know all the details

and I'd be so up for a Rone-fight! cos nobody would want to just do a straight cover.

We could either do a Rone fight, which sounds cool.

Or do a Biggest Loser Coverfight, where you can only cover the songs of those who have never won ever, in any form.

Well, not counting Prayer for Pancakes, I've got 38 fights without a win.

No need to make it worse than it is

(not counting one entry by "Lyricburgler" and one of the "Phunt Caravan Ray" entries which was really just me - which also didn't win)

May I suggest perhaps a more specific thread title than "cool idea"?

But who has the most ZERO scores?

I've had 4 ducks* (I think - Please the Pig, Frannie, Oversleeping, Moonshine) although that's counting "Please The Pig" which is recorded as having a score of '1' - but that was actually me voting for myself (I considered it the finest song of a generation) - so that doesn't count.

I think there should be DUCKFIGHT! - pick a song from anywhere in the archive that received zero votes and have a go at it.

(*for my American friends: duck= (cricket term) the score received by a batsman who is dismissed without scoring a run - derived apparently from the similarity of the Arabic numeral '0' with the shape of a duck's egg)

In defining "ducks" you brought up, like, four other words that need definition.

("Batsman"? Wtf?)

OK - I know this is difficult - so pay attention:

Batsman = the man with the bat.
