Of course not, and the FAG thing wasn't okay either. But he said he'd keep it to himself from now on, and I still think he's an idiot in some respects. But I don't know anyone who I don't think is an idiot in some respect, myself included.blue wrote:so when Crates reviews Niveous' next song as

No.
...and not just for human-rights reasons (as defined by Canadian Law mind you...) Dissing music based on someone's personality is very common though... but maybe loudly proclaiming it to be based on something like race or sexual orientation on a public messageboard is a tad cowardly. It'd be different if he had balls enough to include a phone number, address or hell a skype name for that matter.
But to blast off stuff like that publically while hiding behind a fakename ...uh... I mean... leaf isn't my real name.
Right.
Let's keep pretending that Crates is really another SF'er having some trolling fun.
I'm gonna start guessing...
it's Treajuris!! YummyBUg!!
...maybe it's "freudian slip"... hmmm. No, same reason it can't be Poor June... too coherent.
Maybe it's generic. I remember when I first came to SF and he gave me the gears cause I wasn't "a regular"....then he told me, "ok, I guess your alright cause you look like you'll be around for a while...it's just that we get a lot of people who storm in, and then vanish a few months later".
heeheeheeheeheeheehee.
Now that's funny...

No but you seem to have time to write like you've looked seventeen times for more bullshit.Crates wrote:Fear not, I'm not gonna let you down. I just don't have the time to check this bullshit seventeen times a day.
Neither here nor there, if Crates is as busy as he says, then I sure hope it's because he's making some more great songs for Songfight! His last one was awesome!

Re: The Anal Sex Thread (was re: Crates)
Before we all fall over ourselves to give Crates a way out / get off-topic, to re-iterate:
Duncan may not want to make a big issue out of it, but I do. It is unacceptable. Therefore until Crates apologises, not for his opinions (although personally I hope he comes to regret them at some later, wiser, less-attention-seeking point), but for his lack of respect for the community he so desperately wants to be accepted by, then I will post "Crates is a homophobic asshole" after every single post of his that I come across from now on. Childish, yup, but no more so than calling someone a 'FAG'.
This is not about Crates' opinions as to being gay or anal sex (two seperate issues), this is about his use of homophobic language as a way to denegrate someone who has done nothing but make songs that he wants to make.blue wrote:Homosexuality can be both a choice and a genetic predisposition. Biology is not a binary science. There is an element of choice in every human action, often in spite of predispositions.
But that has nothing to do with attacking someone for a sexual preference. The issue is the attack, not your opinions on the topic or sexuality itself, but that you'd go out of your way to go right for lowest possible ad hominem in a review.
Have some minimum of class, dude. It is part of the integrity of the site that we keep our feelings about each other as people out of our feelings about the music. Disrespecting that, more than anything else, makes you a piece of shit.

I agree that the issue is largely being ignored. But you have yet to post an explanation of exactly what about the song was "FLAMING" or 100% "FAG".Crates wrote: People are getting side-tracked here... this argument was never about gay people being a problem, it was about my contention that Nivelo's song was F L A M I N G and including that in my review.

I don't know about Level Nivelo, but I certainly wouldn't record a song indicating how gay I am.

I might not be homosexual, but I've slept with a guy whos one
Has nothing to do with anything, really, but it is just such a good line. Oh, is from the song I Might Be A Cunt, But I'm Not A Fucking Cunt.

So I love fucking girls in the ass, and I can generally get a girl to do it if we've been dating for a while. What I'd really like is some atm, you know? I want a girl to suck it after it's been in her ass. Maybe it'll be gross in real life and I'll never want to talk to her again, but it's so damn awesome in porn that I just gotta try it.

What do you mean by "you gotta try it"?
Hell, if you're gonna try ATM, make sure you get an enima first... that's what the porn girls do...they get nice and clean first.
I didn't realize you were bisexual though... explains the army thing.
(uh... not sure if you can dish what you give...so I'm joking. I really have no idea if porn girls ALL do that first...)
