i suppose it can wait until next year. or not.

I think the idea of having a certain style for a certain week is cool. Like you have to do a pop song one week, and a rap another week. It seems like a decent idea to me. Anyone else like it?

These are ideas for sidefights, not for songfight.

Why couldn't we do it for a songfight though? There's been special rules for a few fights.

because the fightmasters make the optional challenges for the songfights, not the peanut gallery.

I've been thinking for a while that a Talking Heads coverfight would be cool. Just mentioning it.

This 'Jolly Roger' character has too many ideas. Ideas are dangerous

I seriously considered suggesting a Queen coverfight, and having the deadline date be Freddie Mercury's 60th birthday, which was earlier this week.

I would like to see the return of the real Secret Santa and the Super Secret Hxaro Lovefests, starting with... umm, that guy I mentioned to you at SFL...

Who was that again? And who said I was even at Songfight Live anyways?

Oh right, you did. I am still retired though. PM me with suggestion.

But don't you want to be forever remembered as the last guy who got a Hxaro? By the way, I love your song The Puppet's Dream, and I totally wanted to cover it, then I realized Jim Tyrell had already done it for your Hxaro and it would be totally lame if I tried because both yours and Jim's versions were too awesome. Great song though.

King Arthur was the first, not the last. He was the inspiration.

The only thing I don't like about that idea is I would have no idea how to narrow down which Costello song to do. After The Fall? Deep Dark Truthful Mirror? Blame It On Cain? Alison? I Want You? And then there's all of the bonus released stuff that he's been putting on the re-releases of his old stuff...Wave A White Flag, Gloomy Sunday...oh wow, I'd be so all over this fight.

If we could branch that out to include David Byrne's solo stuff I'd be all over that too.

I would be up for Talking Heads fight and would pre-emptively call 'Don't Worry About The Government'.

I would also be up for Presley/Costello in whatever combination.

I would also like to hear a coverfight of Kompressor songs, only without any electronica involved. An G'n'G version of 'Brush Yr Teeth'? I would be there. Called something like 'I am Kompressor [/sparticus]'.

Talking Heads would be cool, and I might try to do a song of Elvis P.

Thanks. Now that's stuck in my head. I'd be in for that. Way too much good stuff to mine.

It's way too soon, but I can't not claim "Sax & Violins". Story (and it's a doozy) to come at some later date far in the future, heh.

I'd like a sidefight where everyone does songs from "The Jungle Book".

Well, if everyone's gonna start calling songs and shit, I'd better stake my claim for Once In A Lifetime right now.
