I think Sausage Boy had the better large picture but it didn't convert as well on a small scale.

Denyer's cover sucked on all possible levels. I do not even need to go into it.Seoup Gei wrote:The cover art for the "Ignorance is Bliss" Songfight really sucks. I mean, a picture of president Bush?
It's really too bad, because wormsweater actually had a funny cover art submission, and while Denyer's was bad bad photoshop work, it was also somewhat funny.
A picture of president Bush? How lame.
Wormsweater's showed up after the Bush showed up.
Bush or Denyer was what it came down to. Both suck equally, but Bush is more famous. Easy choice.

I hate you least of all people, sausage boy. However, I find that I must put aside personal feelings and judge the art on it's appropriateness. The title was Control YOURSELF (emphasis added). Your art had a bunch of robots. Ashley's had a single individual. That was the basis on which I selected.sausage boy wrote:clearly, everyone hates me.
FU!
No, I like Ashley's. I can see why it is included as the cover. But I point out again that my original art is ditched, while my stupid in joke art always makes it through.
If Denyer had entered, I would have not been able to put aside my personal feelings, so his would not have been used however brilliant it might have appeared on the surface.

Knowing this...well...uh, agreed.
But I have to say, anyone who just takes a picture of Bush from somewhere on the internet and calls it cover art...that's just kinda sad. I mean, it could have at least been run through some kind of filter or something. Or there could have been a reference to some political issue or evil event going on...and Bush being totally ignorant...blah blah. The cover just made no sense to me. Then again, maybe that is the beauty of it...not that theres any beauty to it at all.
I gotta get back to doing my senseless cover art...my next cover will just be a picture of Spud. I'll heist it from the songfight picture gallery...it will work well for "You get the wiser".
monkey biz...
You get the 'wiser, I'll get the Coors. You get the Miller, I get the whores.

Aw. Thanks. There's a larger, non-jpegged version of it here if anyone wants. The jpeg kind of didn't work so well.fluffy wrote:Personally I thought Ashkey's was the best, anyway. Given two with the same idea I'd go for the one with subtlety and professionalism too.

Wonder how many Bush Covers we've got on here, anyway.Seoup Gei wrote:...anyone who just takes a picture of Bush from somewhere on the internet and calls it cover art...that's just kinda sad <snip> Or there could have been a reference to some political issue or evil event going on...
Stolen from a pdf, by the way.

It was not about who was more famous, it was racism. Kellis used a picture of an American, I used a picture of an Australian. Spud is American so he racistly chose the picture of the American.Spud wrote:Bush or Denyer was what it came down to. Both suck equally, but Bush is more famous. Easy choice.
The url wormsweater gave was http://www.thegio.net/kazakhstan/Photos ... anhole.jpg so that excluded him.

For your consideration: Beauty is a Burden. Because that many adoring fans loving you at once has got to get old.
Larger version also exists. Comments, criticism and other flatulence welcome.

Art Archive
The Art Index and Archive doesn't seem to work like I remember it working in the past. I submitted a cover for this week, but I don't know if it actually went through, so I thought I'd post it here as well.

Hope you like it.
