Toby??? WTF is Toby?
He's referring to Rockstar: Supernova contestant Toby Rand. He's an aussie who like you is known for his chants. Yours is Oi Oi Oi! His is OH oh Oh oh OH OH. He'll be a hit soon enough. His song "Throw It All Away" is super catchy.

Toby should have won.

Last night, whilst studying for my industrial first aid renewal ticket, I had moscow Idaho come up by Redcar (each time I hear that track, I get more "depth" from it) and another tune from the butterfly massacre fight by Caldor...

I'm not quite sure who Caldor is, but the tune was excellent, yet it only got 1 vote. Reminds me of "billy talent" a bit. Really like it..check it out!

..I also ended up hearing a ton of stuff shuffling in the background.

You know, sometimes I love u2, sometimes they drive me crazy...but you can not deny the total passion in their music. If you want a nice melencholy vibe or some emotional wrenching sounds, don't go to emo...just listen to U2. Drives me crazy sometimes though.

I reach for the Passengers album, which is U2 with Brian Eno, Pavarotti and various others. Awesome soundscapes and grooves.

I really love the Passengers album too. I am not a fan of U2 in general, but Eno's contributions make it awesome. Also in his book "A Year with Swollen Appendices" he talks about making this album, so that's really cool, to read about some of the behind-the-scenes stuff.

The new Yo La Tengo is fucking incredible. "Black Flowers" might be their best song yet. And no I'm not forgetting about "Sugarcube."

The 10,000 song list now has at least 4 people taking a crack at it.

Go see what <a href="http://sotd.thebewells.com/">Andy</a> chose today
Go see what <a href="http://heuristicsinc.livejournal.com/">Heuristics Inc.</a> chose today

The other day I picked up the new TV on the Radio (finally), the new Jeffrey Lewis, new Bonnie "Prince" Billy, and the new Xiu Xiu. All of them are fucking phenomenal.

I'd never have heard Triosk if some dude hadn't turned up in a field one night with a boombox. The Bad Plus are cool, cheers.

my fears have been abated, the new beck is awesome. best thing he's released since midnite vultures, if you were to ask little ol' me.

beck - the information
subtle - for hero: for fool (seriously, get this album RIGHT NOW! there is nothing else like this)
adult swim/stones throw - peanut butter wolf presents: chrome children (the new madvillain track on there is pretty slick)

The Decemberists: The Crane Wife. I'm just listening for the first time. There's a lot of great stuff in here. Some of the songs are a lot different than anything else by the Decemberists in style. Those'll take some getting used to.
