Caravan Ray - Little River Band's Reminiscing

I'm a little surprised I'm still on the roster - my previous comment must have been overlooked:
Caravan Ray wrote:Well if I can't do an Air Suppy song, I'm not doing ANYTHING!!! :x - youse can jam your Yachtfight up your dates...

(...that seems like a good enough excuse for me to back out of something I had no intention of doing in the first place. Seriously, anyone who covers Toto or Kenny Loggins songs, even in jest, will go to hell. Although I suppose I'm already going to hell - after all I did do a cover of a Barry Manilow song a few months ago...)
...then again - I believe I said something similar in the lead up to the Barry Manilow Fight - but I still did an entry...

Actually, I'm now thinking I'm going to try to do "I Keep Forgetting" by Michael MacDonald, probably with Erin.

Whatever became of this? I don't think anyone ever responded. For the record, I'm fine with either deadline, September 28th or October 13th. I just wouldn't want the other Sidefights being effected.

Yeah, we'll let the Yahtzee or Yacht Nazi or whoever is the Captain of this ship set the official date which I'm sure will be updated in the first post (hint).

As I look at the other pending deadlines Total Request Coverfight isn't due until 11/01 and the Hall & Oates isn't due until 12/31 so revising the due date until 10/13 should work for everyone playing more than one of these. (Me)

I'm new here... is it too late for me to get in on this one?

If not, I'd like to do Firefall's Just Remember I Love You.

What's the official deadline?

update of when i'll update

Post by moboid »

Hey guys. Just a note to say that i'll update the "captain's roster" with all these changes (drops, pickups, date changes, etc) later this weekend...

(I was in Sweden. and tomorrow's my BIRFday. So, that's my excuse.)

But the most important change to note is the official confirmed new deadline of October 13th!! Y'all got two more weeks to rock smoothly!!!!

Ooh, it's gonna be the smoothest Friday the 13th ever!

In the meantime, happy birthday!

Happy birthday, Yachtzee!

Also: my previous ambivalence can be at least partially ignored; I'm in for BOTH 'Escape' and 'Him' by Rupert Holmes. I don't have a link to the original on the second one, but I assure you it's pure YachtRock. It's off the same album (Partners In Crime).

Full Disclosure

Post by moboid »

I changed my song. As a fan, I love the Ambrosia cheese, but as a performer, I wasn't feelin it. Moved on to the kinky Doobiesish one-hit by Robbie Dupree. I like how in the video, a piano takes the place of a vibraphone, a Les Paul is visually referenced for a sitar, and Robbie Dupree stands in for a charismatic pop singer.

I am about half done. Two of my songs could be considered complete, or close to it. The other two? Not so much.

I am looking forward to hearing what everyone else came up with, though! TWO DAYS AWAY!

ROCK!

I sorta thought I was out. Well, I do have good intensions, but it'll be way late. Plenty of listening in the meantime, I'm sure...

There's no excuse because there has been more than enough time to complete this project on time, but I've procrastinated long enough to contract my first cold of the season so I'm not in good enough Logginsesque voice at the moment to make a run at the vocals. Zycam is an amazingly wonderful product and is defeating the virus as I type this but it doesn't do much to assist my voice which will only when return when it's damn good and ready. I'm hoping I still might make the late Friday deadline though. If not, I should be good to go sometime on Saturday. No later than Sunday for sure.

Feel free to mock me if I miss the deadline.

Oh what the heck, feel free to mock me anyway.

I procrastinated too, and probably won't have something post-able until Saturday afternoon, Pacific time. :(

Uh, not sure! First Mate Glenn, what do you think? How do the winds be blowin'? 160 knots NNW? 256?
(If the reason for a limitation is server space or download bandwidth, then heck, bring it on. I've got plenty enough of both.)

I've got room to host a few songs as well, if people need hosting.
