Hire a Choir??

Post by halen99 »

So you know the sound of a keyboard choir? "Ahhhh". I have an intro to a song I use that on but I am thinking it would be super cool to use a real recording of a choir doing that part. Anyone know of a "hire a choir" I could look into for recording a very small part?

I am not recommending this. However, what if one were to take a field recorder (minidisc, flash, whatever) to a school choir concert and record it, then sample what one needed? one could also do this at one's local churches, many of which will have a choir cantata in the middle of their service.

Not good of you plan to make money off your song, but if you're just a goof like the rest of us, perhaps you could get what you need without much bother. Hell, they'd probably GIVE you a recording if you asked nicely.

Or just find one of their recordings online. Colleges love to promote their choirs online. MP3s abound.

i would just see if you have a school choir nearby, like someone else suggested. i bet they wouldn't mind if you asked to tape them warming up.

Wusssssssssssss.

Sing it yourself. 20 times.

Horribly embarrassing track overall, but the first 10 seconds should prove it can be done. Write some thick harmonies, and layer each part a good 4 times. Pan and reverb to taste.

I can't find my "The One" entry from Phil's sidefight a year or two back, that was a good example of one-man choir. I'll post it if I find it.

FYI - The Vienna Soprano Choir Performance Legato series is available FREE for anyone who purchased the 10 Standard Libraries of the Symphonic Cube ($4,620).

Still, I think Sober sounds better ;)
