Oh man , I'm really excited about this already. I love Sober on the original, he sounds like Ad Rock.

So, who does the beats anyway?

Well, it was me last time, and most likely this time too. There's so much eq chaos between everybody's different vocal setup, i think it's better if the beats poop out of one source.

I did try to match the, uh, "sub-beat" to each rapster last time.

So how does this work, precisely? I mean, I got the gist, but I'm assuming that you just give us set time allottments and we go from there, correct?
Am I rockin' hard, or hardly rockin'?

OK.

Largely the same deal as last time.

Here's four bars of drums: Boom Claps
BPM = 190

Y'get two sets of four lines. First set should include some kind of, you know, identification.
As an added bonus, interested parties kin also submit one single line, where the last word rhymes with "Fight" (but isn't "fight")
ALSO: single hit "what" or "ungh" or "yo" or whatever are encouraged! (Break out the party hats.)

Go ahead and send 'em as .wavs (or, if you have to, 256kbps mp3s [or, you know, whatever]) to phil@tartpop.com.
Please send each verse as separate files (without the beat in the background, thank you!), & try to resist EQing 'em, ok?

DUE DATE: MONDAY, BREAKFAST.

Looking forward to it, guys!

(any questions, please consult USRT1)

Do we send it mixed with the drums, or just the vocals alone?

EDIT: Never mind ... just noticed you said already.

How quickly do you expect to put this project together once everybody has sent in their stuff? I figured I'd ask before the due date even came up so that it would be clear that I'm just curious and not totally impatient.

Hmmm. This could be tough. I'm in Hong Kong. Will have to see if I can find a mic.

For some reason, that makes me think of like some crazy Buckaroo Bonzai / Big Trouble in Little China - style romp. I just thought somebody might appreciate knowing that Spud is enough of an internet icon to conjure up bizarre residual impressions simply by changing physical locations.

Just got home from a short trip. Not sure if I have time or energy to do this, but it's definitely tempting.
