I'm all about 2 titles, because that's how it was when I started, and there are less songs to review for each one. Those were the days when I wanted to review everything though.

I just voted for two because I think it's a nice number, but then I saw this and I want to change my vote to "one".

...just kidding.....

I like the idea of two fights. Plus, I miss j$ songs. I still vote for two fights.

Umm, okay, keep it at one title until I can catch up with j$ in number of entries. Then switch to three titles because that's what I really want, and j$ can then pull out another big lead on me.

Of course, if I was really working on that, I'd have sent in the "tw3rp" song I wrote. I didn't, 'cause it was one of those songs where the chords are all over the place and the only melody I came up with that fit had about three notes in it. Plus I used a pretty wimpy MIDI drum kit and then tried to make the song rock out by throwing on a lot of distorted guitars. Wasn't working, and the way I record, I can't go back and change the drum patch without starting all over.

In any case... now I know why I'm catching up with j$, despite my own irregular participation...

This is an interesting thread, with some potential for influencing the operation of the site, so keep it up. I like the "occassional" multi-title fight concept, for instance. As previously noted, state your reasons and make your case, don't just vote and then vote again in your post. Thanks.

Well if you guys are really curious as to how I feel,

I like having more than one title to choose from because sometimes one title is better than the other for side projects.

I also like balloons. I saw somebody with a bright red shirt and a handful of bright, red balloons trying to get into a secure building once. I totally let her in. I mean, who would go into a building with bright red balloons, matching shirt, and evil intentions?

I was never much for D& D, but Songfight has that feel for me I suppose... in that I view the ADMIN like a gamesmaster... keeping it interesting, changing it up. I've hung around here for ...I dunno three years? And it's got a lot of variety for 1 concept. I say keep on keeping on!

I also LOVE that you take the feedback to heart and utilize it when it resonates for ya.

Alright Spuddy, you asked for it.

My reasons for wanting two fights:

1. yin and yang
2. 2 sides to a coin
3. Good and evil
4. male and female
5. night and day
6. water and earth
7. fire and ice
8. sword and stone
9. more j$ tunes
10. less fights with a gazillion entries
11. less fights with barely any entries
12. two options instead of just one
13. more than one but not overkill like more than 2 could be
14. one is the lonliest number, three's a crowd
15. presented by Spud and JB
16. Jack and Jill
17. dial up and broadband
18. electric or acoustic
19. condenser and dynamic
20. reverb and delay
21. RMS and Peak
22. male anatomy
23. nipples
24. ears
25. arms
26. legs
27. eyes
28. nostrils

etc.

Yeah, "A Variation on Two" should be one of the choices.

(by the by, I did unit photography - stills - for a short film shoot last week and pulled out my AVO2 songfight song and used it to build a "making of..." video based on the stills. so I've got that one totally in my brain right now...)

I voted for two simply because there are some weeks that one title may not set off a creative spark. Two titles increases the chances.

I find three to be too much as it thins out the field of competition.

One- too little song
Three- too little fight
Two- Songfight.

I voted for 2. I agree with Niveous and Seoup Gei as they have presented some wonderful arguments for 2 fights.

I feel that the Hell Yeahs would fight more if we were given 2 choices. It seems that lately we wait all week for a new title to go up, really excited to fight, but then the title doesn't do anything for us and another week goes by with no song. With the kids getting bigger, we have a tiny bit more time on our hands and I'd love for some of that time to go to Songfight.

If there were two title options there would probably be more Hell Yeahs songs.

You don't have two of everything down there, do you? Cause I can only take being half the man you are in so many ways and none of them are literal.

What if you have two titles that don't grab your attention? I think that if you're going to enter, you're going to enter and show that you can be clever and creative with what has been given. It keeps an even playing field in my opinion. I've often heard an entry that made great use of the title in a way that never even accrued to me. That automatically gets points in my book.
People have lives, get burned out, feel uninspired, etc etc. I don't think the title should be blamed for ones lack of inspiration. But then again, I can only speak for myself.

heh heh I love your posts Egg......I was thinking the "typical" male is born with two of those which should be held every night, bouncing to the left or right ...(as Bon Scott would say)

Well then you just weren't meant to enter that week. I was just saying that there is a better chance that you'll like the title. A quick look at the last 10 single fights vs. the last 10 double fights: About 225 entries to 275 entries. I would prefer having more songs to enjoy.

I've checked thoroughly and now support THREE titles per week?! *gulp*

Oh, but seriously, what people say about variety is very true. I actually do love the fact that it seems to arbitrarily change from season to season. And I like that we get to guess what the new categories are going to be based on the single letter description by the songtitles. I personally enjoyed the iced cream flavor days.

I voted for the Singular Fight. I only actively go back a little over a year, but to me, the quality of the Fights drastically improved when it went singular. I also like how we're all in the same boat.

Of course I may never win again. I think 3 entries might be an exaggeration, but I was in a couple with only 6 entries.

If I could I would have voted for "more than one" but I put 3 arbitrarily. I'd be just as happy with 2. One reason, since Spud wants reasons, is that I bet I would review more with a couple smaller fights. These big fights are a real bear for reviewing because I don't want to do only some of the songs. And voting too. I'd probably vote more often (tho most likely on only one fight, whichever I deem more interesting). Also entering. But I mentioned that already. I can definitely see the benefit in changing the number every so often; that's cool, and I think it's about time to go away from 1 again :)
