Song of the Year?

Post by wages »

Just a(nuther) thought....

Song of the Year. We take ALL the winners from last year (that's 2006 kiddies), put them in a fight and see what gets crowned as "greatest SF song of 2006"). It could even be put on the SF homepage for all to see year round, until 2007 like:

The winner might actually get a real prize.... like "$1 off when you buy two packages of Hot Pockets (Exp 2/28/07)"

Do you want to know that this has already been done, for 2004 I think, by jim of seattle with heats and play-offs and all that crap. Do you want to know it turned into a back-biting, name-calling, hair-pulling, no nudity disaster? And I don't think in the end the winner was ever agreed upon?

Just sayin', like ...

Nah. Not only is there likely to be a repeat of the events listed above, but... onward to the NEXT songs, boys!

So what would be different than any other fight? Too many ego maniacs? Too many finger quote "gestures"?

....I wonder what the limit of options is for the forum polls? oh, and BTW, there were 94 song winners/"tie-ers" last year..... ;)

And, and I'm just thinking out loud, what would be the best forum category to post such a fight...ya know, if anyone actually set it up? Ya know, cause I'm just curious. Ya know, I wouldn't ramble like this. Ya know, like Stewie. Ya know I wouldn't ramble like this unless, um, I, um, ya know, ya know.... Oh nevermind!

I would rather you listen to every winning song from last year and post your top 10 or whatever with why you liked them.

Why don't we take all the songs that garnered absolutely no votes whatsoever throughout the year, and give them a second shot at the glory?

It'll be the longest, most painful review process ever, but at least a few of the songs will get some votes.

I compiled a list of the winners, but I don't have the patience to compile a list of the non-winners (though, most of them will be me!). You should GO FOR IT!!! I'd love a second chance to win! hahaha!
