Okay, I'm driving out to the Bay Area on Sunday night, because it's cheaper than flying, I love roadtrips, and I've got a reliable but beat-up crapmobile that hasn't left the driveway in months...and needs to stretch a bit.

However, I'm working M/T in Sunnyvale, so I'm trying to plan the hotel logistics. Can anyone recommend a decent, relatively inexpensive hotel within shouting distance of Sunnyvale? Stayed at The Palms recently and it wasn't bad, but it was noisy...

If people could bring Sharpies and paper, that'd be great, too, as there will undoubtedly be some folks who need to hastily scribble down charts to the songs they didn't know they'd be playing in the person's set they hadn't planned to play in, etc. I'll try to bring a Sharpie and some paper with me, but it helps to have more on hand. I know it's kinda random, but I was writing down charts for PFM's set and so it was on my mind.

along those lines. I'd like some pretty decent singers (2) to help out with my Gray Rainbow in LA, Portland and Seattle, and harmonies in other songs as interest permits. I love the harmonies. Anyone? AT least one girl and one guy would be ideal. Anti-m, erin, lunkhead, ken, others?

also would anyone play drums for one song in LA, gray rainbow, very simple song for drums

Thanks fluffy and spud for helping out with that song in Portland and Seattle.

I'd be happy to help in LA, but won't be in Portland or Seattle. Let me know which part to learn.

Besides, don't I still owe you a beer from last year?

Looking forward to seeing you all in LA and in my native Bay

All,

This is going to be so much fun. After playing regularly in college and then for about 7 years afterward (through 1998), I actually only sat behind the kit once or twice per YEAR through 2005, and then in 2006 I somehow ended up in a little band we call Zipline. It's sure nice to be playing again, and in four bands for the California Coastal Crusade (minus the last-minute SLO stopover)!

I look forward to meeting all of you, and wish you all the best with your tunes!

See you in LA, and I welcome you to Berkeley and San Francisco!

Night one is in the books

Just got home from the first night of the tour. It was awesome - so fun - great people, great music.

Just wanted to say that. I'll probably comment more tomorrow.

Best wishes for the rest of the tour!

I and the rest of the Hand Puppets had a great time, and really enjoyed meeting and hearing so many of you last night.

See you all in Berkley and SF Monday and Tuesday.

Has anyone been recording the shows?

I'm going to try to record Seattle at least, now that I know the secret to making Logic support really long takes.

i don't think anyone made a "proper" recording last night, but there were at least two video cameras going most of the time. And lots of cameras.

Great show and a lot of fun. I think it was one of the more successful SFLA gigs, and everyone did an awesome job. Good luck at the rest of the shows. I wish I could keep on touring this year.
