I'm going to Korea

Post by Sober »

I've been playing with the Josh Goode Band for just a few weeks, and they've signed me up to go to Korea with them. Probably no pay involved, but my expenses will be covered, so it's a pretty sweet deal 'cause I'll be in Korea.

Anyone ever been? We're there for a week, and only playing one or two shows, so we'll have plenty of time to party. I understand Seoul isn't far from where we'll be, so that's a must-hit. Anything else I gotta see?

Spud, any sushi tips? OMFG AM I STOKED FOR SUSHI

The band is also arranging a Mediterranean tour in the summer, as well as some week+ long gigs at Club Med shit. i r famose

Don't eat authentic Korean food unless it's a dare...

To echo Jessica, be wary of Korean food. Aside from health concerns, the Korean food I've had was very awful. I couldn't even wash the food down with something good to drink; I was served lukewarm wheat tea. Makes you thirstier than when you started.

The Mediterranean is the best, though, and Club Med is badass. Enjoy that.

So I've been here for about 6 hours. Stood in line for customs, looked all over the airport to find our contact, 3 hour+ bus ride to the base, and then dealing with military procedures.

Even so, I love this country so far. Intensely beautiful scenery, beautiful women, everyone is polite (except the Americans I happen to meet), and the country is very accomodating to English speakers.

I'll bore you with stories/pictures as they come up.
