Yay! I believe I will be submitting as 1/2 of the new super duo Ice 9. When do we find out the song title? Friday?

Rules Clarification Please:

Last year there was a little bit of pre-Ein discussion about guest musicians. I assume they are off limits except in the case of non-optional challenges. That would mean, for instance, I couldn't have someone contribute a kick-ass guitar solo if they aren't normally a member of my band. But if the challenge is "Harp Solo" and I don't play harp I could use another harp player.

Is this correct?

Also - best song exemptions are still in? For how many rounds? I just like to know this kind of stuff. I'm the kind of guy who always reads teh inside of the box lid on board games, too :-)

The first title will be announced on Friday April 27th at 1PM EST (2PM Atlantic, 12PM Central, 11AM Mountain, 10AM Pacific, 9AM Alaska, 8AM Hawaii)

Best song exemptions are still in. And they will exist for Rounds 1-4. There will be no best song exemption after Round Zero.

As for guests...I'm split on that point and will discuss with the jury.

You all should worry less about the rules and more about getting ready to write and record songs. Change your strings! Tune your drums! Clean off some hard drive space!

Seriously, get your priorities in order.

This is sound advice, trust me. Also prepare to get your ass kicked by these two handsome young men. Do they look ready? Oh yes, they're ready

Hmm, yes. Further investigation confirms this. There's a distributor down in MA, but none up here in NH.

Well, it's Long Trail promo night at the bar tonight anyway.

How long after Friday do we get to work on the songs? I'm busy every Saturday, Sunday and Monday ... hopefully it's not due any of those days.

strings are expensive... and I'm way lazy. I'm currently trying to write a concept album... lets hope the title fits in my current mindset.

Also,

did anyone ever decide if there's gonna be an immunity trivia thing?

All those options, but no BST

By my reckoning that's 6PM in the UK... so 3AM in Sydney. on Saturday.

Yeah it's not my battle to wage, but it was mentioned earlier.

Seems a little unfair to Ray, uh.....I mean Tex. And pretty easy to fix if it was moved to Thursday for the Title presentation. I think most people can relate to the value of weekend recording time.

It's always bull shit time here on the songfight! message boards!

Also, I believe that immunity will be in for some rounds. Niv has said both yes and no at different times, because the rules are something of a work in progress. If I was playing I'd assume nothing; when a title is released it'll probably be announced if the winner of that title gets a free pass or not.

It is almost certainly the case that the best song from the qualification round which starts tomorrowish will not earn any immunities. But you'll find out for sure when the official title announcement is made, so, until then, relax and savor your vision of humiliating all your internet friends with your mad double-monkey songwriting and cage-fighting skillz.
