Seems a little unfair to Ray, uh.....I mean Tex. And pretty easy to fix if it was moved to Thursday for the Title presentation. I think most people can relate to the value of weekend recording time.
I really wouldn't begrudge anyone if we just gave it to Ray a day earlier than everyone else, so long as he doesn't share. Since, if I'm not mistaken, his cutoff time will naturally be shorter anyway.

Well - it isn't just me...err, I mean Tex... it is also my homeboys; Sausage Boy and Denyer.

But the cutoff time isn't shorter. We actually have 24 hour days here too. We find it works better that way. The time is exactly the same - but we get until Thursday to finish, whereas everyone else in on Wednesday. The issue is that we miss out on the the early part of the weekend.

It's not really a big issue - I just want to make sure everyone is aware of it so that I can use it as an excuse should the unthinkable happen and Tex doesn't win. I will also blame the judges. And possibly global warming.

Get out! I actually knew that would sound dumb as I was typing it but I didn't feel like carrying the time difference to it's logical conclusion. I guess the gist of what I was saying was that, we could always modify the schedule for people on the other side of the world to even things out. So it could start a day earlier for you and end a day earlier, if that would be more convenient.

Lets just get this shindazzle started. I cleaned up my studio/office/spare bedroom/place where my cat usually sleeps, so I'm ready for the Friday title. Image

I tried writing lyrics for Evil April today and it made me want to poke my eyes out. I'm hoping collaboration will get me out of the slump I'm in.

I found that the only way I can write with any true meaning is if my head is clear and I can sink into my own world and not be bothered for a little while, like 12 hours, lol. I should also say, that this luxury is rare, and it shows in some of my music, especially the stuff that gives me only a week to complete.

But I'm prepared and determined to dive into this 8 week project head first, because I've been a little bummed out with the way things have been in the main title fights. In fact, I'm probably only going to be doing the Nur Ein II titles for the next 8 weeks unless a miracle happens.

To be fair, I don't think this will have much of an impact on the quality of my music, if you know what I mean.

It's almost time.

Check the forum for the title. None of the Round Zero stuff is going up on the Nur Ein website.

...from the notebook, thinking aloud: "Nür Ein is here! Oh holy shit."

And the profanities continue, but I'll spare y'all. Fun! And, ten minutes to title...

rdurand wrote:Rules Clarification Please:

Last year there was a little bit of pre-Ein discussion about guest musicians. I assume they are off limits except in the case of non-optional challenges. That would mean, for instance, I couldn't have someone contribute a kick-ass guitar solo if they aren't normally a member of my band. But if the challenge is "Harp Solo" and I don't play harp I could use another harp player.
I forgot to answer this before. I think this quote sums it up nicely:
There's clearly a line somewhere; I think "getting your friend the bass player to do a bass solo" is fine and "getting your friend the bass player to write your song" is not. It's hard to say where exactly that line is, and I'm fine with letting individual entrants deal with that themselves.

Okay folks, I'm doing work on the Nur Ein website and I need to have photos for all the bands. I'm collecting photos for all 28 bands regardless if they are going to make it or not. Below are links to the pics I have to represent each band. If it's okay, then tell me so in this thread. If not, tell me so in this thread and include a link to a preferred picture. If I don't have a pic of your band, I have a placeholder. You won't want me to use the placeholder.
