Good luck to the rest of you...
Well, I happen to be a Black Crows fan, and you rocked that shit!
Think of it this way. Because of you doing a cover in an original song contest, you inadvertently made me learn that Black Crows didn't write that song, because others pointed that out.
Bottom line, you may be out, but you made a difference in the world. You taught one person one thing. :P

This was going to be our non-optional challenge but it seemed unfair to WreckdoM. Another time, perhaps!

Man. I'm having trouble writing for the new one, but what I've got so far is pretty heavy. And ... riffy.

I have lyrics! Now i just need to write the other stuff. Due to the 'difficulty' of the song title, I had to take the demoralising step of actually including the song title somewhere in the song. I was hoping to avoid that, but a vivid, drug themed title has caused a breakdown of that plan.

I'm working on something I'm very excited about. Which has me worried. Because the songs I get really excited about are usually met with resounding apathy.

I keep flip-flopping on my song. When I'm recording it i think it sounds like crap, but when i listen back later I think it's genius. Hopefully after my two last finals I'll have enough time to really make this one shine.

I have exactly nothing done, recorded or written for round 1. I am coming up completely dry. Getting TKO'd in the first round of Nur Ein will be an embarrassing denouement.

Concerned that mine is clocking in at 2:00... but there's lotsa 'literation living in there. And no cop-out apostrophed words like that, heh.

Is there a minimum number of consecutive words that qualifies as alliteration? Y'know, for the nit -pickers in all of us

Bed's made, some additional drums and vocal brutality are all that's left to fold into the mix. This one I'm already looking forward to doing live.

From poking around a bit both on-line and in my dictionary, there seem to be multiple definitions. Some say, two or more consecutive words, some say they can be slighly separated, dictionary.com includes stressed sylllables (so not necessarily initial letter) in its definition. Is it weird that slightly separated and stressed syllables alliterate?

Yeah, I got that from the refresher references too. "Starting with the same letters or sounds, either consecutively or near each other in a sentence."

No, the syllabic separation sub-clause ain't all that weird. Though it'd be a more regional thing as to whether it feels like alliteration or not. Take the difference in verbal rhythms between us yankees and our neighbors across the pond for example. Bet that's going to drive the judges a little crazy.

Not too worried, but better safe than sorry, eh?

Ahh. Alliteration. Ask anyone about alliteration. As any anorexic always asserts: "Alliteration always amplifies acute anal associations and analogies."

I just started on my round 1 today and I completely changed my direction from my original plan on this song. I just wasn't feeling what I had in mind once I started.
Seeing that Puce has nothing yet makes me feel better because I have a little bit more than nothing. But the little bit that I have, I'm feeling it.

If nothing else, it is premature. I will be schadenfreudical whence I have entered my song, Puce has entered nothing, and I advance; if'n Puce throws something together in the last wee small hours and it rocks my crappy song to bits I shan't have occasion to laugh.
