Need Help For Moving

Post by Yook »

Howdy folks. I'm moving from San Francisco, CA to Brooklyn, NY at the end of the month, and so of course I'm going crazy trying to get rid of stuff before the big day.

I've got some really crappy pictures of furniture I'm trying to get rid of up here: Yook's Giveaway-o-thon! If you want any of it, let me know.

Mainly, though, I'm writing this because I need some major help. For reasons that are too dumb to get into right now, I'm having trouble renting anything for the big "take stuff to the dump" and "take a bunch of boxes to FedEx" aspects of my move.

So, I am hoping that one of the Bay Area Fighters that own a pickup truck, minivan or just plain van can help me, either by driving me around for a couple of days, or letting me borrow their vehicle for a couple of days. I know, it's a crazy request, and I'm pretty sure nothing will come of this post, but it never hurts to try. (As long as you don't roll a botch, then it did hurt to try.)

Anywho, thanks for reading this.

-Yook

P.S. The "Fragile Shelf Unit" has, um, sorta broken. One of the X-like cross pieces at the bottom snapped. So, um, ignore it.

P.P.S. Also, I'm giving away my hard-tail Trek mountain bike, but only to a good home, i.e. someone who has a need and/or good use for it. Let me know if you are interested in pics/info.

Beats lying to people. If anyone wants my crappy furniture for free, they can have it. Consider it a street corner on the internet.

That's a Sony Trinitron, if I'm not mistaken, and they're very fine, indeed.

Welcome to Brooklyn! When is the move happening, and where is it to?

Honestly, I wouldn't drink that Nyquil. It's pretty old.

So, anybody out there in internet land willing to help a brother out?

P.S. The move is happening on the 31st. And I'm moving to somewhere around 50-something and fourth-ish in Brooklyn.

Actually, it's not too bad. The neighborhood is fine, a little grimier than I'm used to from being in San Francisco for so long. In any case, my brothers and I are planning on finding a different place to live in a few months, my moving into their current place is only temporary.

And now, once more I ask, any Bay Area Fighters willing to help a brother out?

I should note that I am willing to pay cash money, up to $200, for access to said vehicle. Seriously.

Sorry I'm not closer, or I'd help out, but I'm almost in San Diego.
But if you can pay 200 bux, you can rent a truck. U-haul rents pick ups and vans, as well does Rent-A-Car places.
Good luck

Yook! We don't have a truck/van/etc. to lend. We're sharing my Civic these days. We're kind of busy with Erin's mom visiting, and if we make it into round three of Nur Ein we'll be busy with that, as well. Maybe we can somehow help you get around whatever it is that's preventing you from being able to rent a truck? I'm not sure what else we can offer, unfortunately, except to try to meet up for beers or something to say "Bon Voyage!"

I think I have solved my vehicular problem. All is well.

Nothing to see here. Move on.
