Do you think you could possibly have picked a more vague subject line?

I'm afraid I know nothing about the vs-880. Don't even know what it is. Probably wouldn't have bothered reading this thread if it was in the subject, in fact....

I used the 880-EX and backed things up via SCSI to a burner. You could also use a zip-drive, I believe. It should also have optical and digital outs on it as options for something. I still use a Roland, and all the old storage discs load right up in the new machine, too.

I don't want to put anyone on the spot, but someone here mentioned using an 880, I think it may have been Boltoph. (I can't remember what I did five minutes ago, yet I remember that) Is it a breach of etiquette to suggest PM'ing him?

I don't have one of these units, but a guy who used to have a music studio nearby also has something to do with this forum:

I suspect you can get a lot of relevant info there.

I have a VSR -880, the rack mount version, although I don't use it anymore.

There are a variety of ways you can do this.. do you have a cd burner attached to this unit? What format do you want to put it into on your computer? Do you have a DAW on your computer? How many inputs do you have on your computer? There are a ton of ways to do this...but your tools and equipment and exact intent are not clear.
