I have a somewhat similar problem. Theres a fairly famous guy is Aust called Lee Matthews. Especially when people have lists of name in that LAST NAME, FIRST NAME format, even though they have read out maybe dozens of name correctly, they'll still call me out as Lee Matthews.

When i was studying at Tafe, one of the ditzy lectures used to call me Jason. No idea where she got that name from. People also like to call me Michael, for some reason. And theres a guy, Graham, at work that calls me Simon all the time. I'm sure my name is so bland, the human brain just can't get to grips with it.

In high school some friends called me "Froggy" (french surname - I hear it's pretty common in some areas of Canada)

These days I enjoy "Daddy" quite a lot.

Today:

Teaching

Ein!-ing

Several tragic car accidents in Southern California lately. Some are touching my students - uncles and stuff. It's quite sad.

My real last name sounds like British slang for a vulgar act. Everyone on the planet is a comedy genius and points this out to me. It is so very entertaining every single time.

I just noticed that I missed roll call today...err, yesterday.

I'm sitting here bouncing tracks and mixing for Nur Ein "No One Else"
So I figure I'll type as each track exports. Damn slow computer.
I'm on my laptop now, but all of my music is done on my desk top.

The letter count of my wife's maiden name = 6-6-6 but I married her anyway. I suppose I missed an opportunity for a party exactly one year ago. And hey - today (6/6/07) is her current letter count. If I was just a slightly bigger geek, I'd probably point that out to her.

I Googled. Apparently there is an Australian Rules football team in Brisbane. Mr Matthews is apparently their coach. I wish they would just go back to wherever they came from, whoever they are. We are quite happy thank you very much with the Broncos (even if they do have the most embarassing name of any sporting club in Australia)

Originally I just linked to my audio production portfolio page which actually has my last name and first initial on it, but I thought better of it, thinking that being explicit about my actual last name would lead to more ridicule. Clearly I was mistaken.

Sorry Jolly Roger, I hate that.

My part time job involves documenting traffic accidents in real time and it depresses me a little each time I hear a road closed for an extended investigation. Bummer, and I hope you're all right.
