Hey y'all.
As I prepare for another tough day at work, here's a question of the day. It's a simple one. As web acquaintances, we don't know much about each other, so... What's one odd thing that most people on the board probably don't know about you?
For instance: I've said a lot on the board about my love of 80's cartoons> I adore GI Joe. I collect Thundercats toys. I love Transformers. I collect He-Man toys (only the old ones, though the new ones are well sculpted). But there's one cartoon that I loved but I never admitted on the board (probably due to a well rounded fear of ridicule) and that was Jem. I don't collect the toys but I have watched both of the DVD's with the kinderlings and could remember every song. I know it was supposed to be a girl show, but it catered to its boy audience by doing stuff like having a big action cliffhanger before every commercial break. Plus, it was a music show so it had that appeal as well for me.
So there's one odd thing you probably didn't know about Niv. What's one odd thing I don't know about you?

Niv,
I must have probably close to a hundred Jem dolls and the rest of the Holograms and the Misfits and Rio (complete with guits, mics keys etc), . They're not mine, however. Moses collects the 12" dolls, we have a room here which is full of em. Her main thing is Sindy, of which we have hundreds, but she also has thousands of Barbies and various Action girls, Tressies, Dawn/Pippa(6") and lots more.
All kept in a room alomg with 2 huge ass sindy houses and boxes n boxes of clothes and accessories(sp!). And maybe a dozen horses. But the shoes... my missus is like the Imelda Marcos of doll shoes. Millions of em. I cant open a drawer or cupboard without finding one.
Lots of the dolls are boxed (mostly Barbies), but most are not, picked up cheap from charity shops or bootsales.
She also re-roots the hair on em.
If anyone is interested (I know you aint) then this board is where Moses hangs out. Lots of her dolls can be seen here. her user name is Alabama. She is like the Ca$hpoint or Leaf of the site (huge post level)
So the QOTD :-
I know far too much about dolls (despite hating the bloody things) I guess I've come accross all Smithers here.
DRC:-
guess ... go on

Good Morning! (I don't actually feel like that sounds, I'm kinda groggy actually) It's FRIDAY! YAY! (yeah, this isn't an accurate potrayal at all)
I HAVE THE WEEKEND OFF from my other job too! OH, and it's payday! (well, every Friday is pay day when you have two jobs, but this is the full time paycheck)
I'm still tinkering, so it's been two days of frittering.
I'd mention that I used to work in porn but more than a few of you already knew that. What a lot of you probably don't know about me is my interest in violence and its history. I enjoy reading non-fiction documentation of murderers, serial killers, masochists, wars, ethnic cleansing etc... I'm fascinated with violent human behavior. It's as natural to us (as habitants of the earth) as any other type of activity we are involved in. It's truly interesting to me to read what some people are capable of. (this interest dates all the way back to highschool where I spent half of my lunch periods reading and watching WWII books and film. Something about men embossed into six inches of sand while the tide still rushed over them unapologetically captivated me, moved me.)
Nickel worth of free advice: Keep your doors locked.

Another day in pair of dice
Rolling number and feeling nice
Friday, yeah
Busy day
People calling
Work happening
Round five
Must finish
Love song
I suck
My way
True heart
Oh well
Two words
F**k me
Two more
Why me
Last two
I'm done
QOTD:
I'm into cars
Muscle cars
Power and torque
The smell of burning rubber
Anything fast, really
Boats, Bikes, Sand Rails
I love it all

I don't know how to ride a bike. or swim. I guess I shouldn't admit this, because it will embolden my enemies: all they have to do is tie me to a bicycle and throw it in a pool for me to surely die.

QOTD: I can't think of anything odd about me that I haven't already revealed... but I'll try.
I once spent an evening shouting at trees for giving me a hard time about being a white man and stealing there land...
When I was 25 I obsessively trained at ball hockey so I could join the local ball hockey league and play at least an average level against Junior A, Junior B and WHL players who view this summer league as a way to stay in shape... I finished the season EXACTLY in the middle of the scoring race, and had one game where I had a better winning percentage in face-offs than the local AHL player (an NHL prospect for Colorado), and scored a short handed goal in the playoffs. Interestingly, the team I was on never won a single game in three seasons... even though we made the playoffs once.. despite my love of hockey, and all the work I did... I can not ice skate.
I once went to an Australian brothel when I was 19, and spent 20 minutes drunkly talking to two Algerians in French. Even though I don't REALLY speak French. Apparently if you say "oui" and "non" to every single thing an drunk Algerian says they won't pick up on your ineptitude and sarcasm for at least 10 minutes. Silly Algerians. The "madam" (if you could call it that) kicked me out for disturbing the "patrons". So I went and got more drunk.

In half an hour I'm going to work at my summer job at as a cashier at a liquor store, where I'll sell cheap booze to alcoholics. And QOTD: I love 70's Italian horror movies. Also I'm vegan.
Please fill me in on this.Hoblit wrote: I'd mention that I used to work in porn but more than a few of you already knew that.

Today was rather uneventful. I brought a certain videogame that emulates playing a certain 6 stringed instrument for father's day. I'm having people over tonight while my brother is in Baltimore and the parents are out at an anniversary movie'n'dinner. Thusly, I spent most of the day cleaning.
QOTD: I have no idea what people know and what people don't about me. I, uh, have been in a bunch of theater shows lately, I have a birthmark in the shape of the Canadian maple leaf, I'm from Britain, my eyes turn a really creepy vibrant shade of green during the winter, I was on a crappy Sunday morning CBBC program called Sub Zero and my name was NetBug, I once practically punched a guy in a movie theater. None of this is particularly odd, I think. The maple leaf birthmark is pretty badass though.

I always thought Sindy was a terrible Barbie knockoff and because of my allegiance to Barbie I once cut all the hair off a friend's Sindy collection. I was an awesome little kid.Me$$iah wrote: Doll Stuff

I used to work for a company called Entertainment Network Inc. Basically the company that invented and still own Voyeurdorm . com. (and dude dorm . com if you're into that) They also had a lot of fetish sites such as see me pee , see me shave... which were all just advertisments for the video lines of the same name. Of course there were plenty of other video lines they have/had. I was basically the guy who edited and encoded the online clips. Well, it didn't start that way. At first I was just a tech who monitored the network and chat room. Learned HTML in my free time and started doing web updates. Then from there I maintained and developed the websites by marrying the graphic artists' work with the programmers'. I was a field tech for them for a while and I'd go out to the site to replace parts and run wire and generally fix stuff related to the network of cameras and computers.
It all came to a close though. They started doing badly after some poor business decisions and you know which way sh@t rolls. One night the database server failed and we built a whole brand new site...took us 14 hours to take what we didn't need the DBs for. That week, suddenly, all overtime had to be approved and it those hours didn't reflect on my check. This among other things that had already gotten ugly. I turned in my badge and my gun and I began to wander the earth for the next two and a half years.

QOTD: Hmm. Like Hoblit, worked for a porn company, making websites for imaginary strippers and the occasional real one who'd get a 'deal' 'cause the scumbag boss would trade sex for a discounted price on the site. It was more of a boiler room operation, which self-destructed in lawsuits (I was very happy not to be named in the papers that were served), private detectives, interstate flight and at least one suicide.
Been in a movie, not porn, which was an utterly festering piece of shit. Never finished the song about it (Influential Film), though it will be a part of the Primitive Screwheads' set the next show we play.
So there's a couple of things most of y'all didn't know about yrs. truly.

For the love of all the gods, I hope Moses dont see this.
She'll be here explaining the differences, and how barbie was a knock of of a french doll, which is now worth a fortune. And Mattel n Hasboro and all sorts.
In reality, I dont give a monkies... bloody dolls, cost too much money and take up too much space.....
Tho I guess she feels the same about my studio.

You were an awesome kid. That'll learn your friend. teach her not to have you rond, that is:)

I believe that goes for any person of power in porn. There were a lot of Voyeur Dorm girls who got 'special treatment' and more than a few were bouncing between the internet and the strip clubs this CEO also owned.Rabid Garfunkel wrote: QOTD: Hmm. Like Hoblit, worked for a porn company,

Entertainment Network Inc. STARTED in some guys garage with about 12 cameras in various strip joints sending data to his residence. Luckily, they started to make REAL money before the lawsuits came in. When they did, they could afford a very good lawyer and beat most of them. BUT... when they brought in a parterners under false numbers and promises of more false numbers... lawsuits they knew they couldn' win ensued. They folded alot of good business (this is illustrating the bad decisions I was mentioning earlier) and sold them very cheaply as part of an 'out of court' settlement. Then things went downhill and now they are currently still in business, but stuck in that valley no where near that high point they were riding for years.
I just wanted to let you know... just like that Joe Francis, porn & power corrupts and disintegrates perfectly good business ideas.

I copied Glen and cut off about 14 inches of my hair which I also plan on donating to Locks of Love. Wheee! Don't have any great pix of the deed, sadly.
RE: QOTD -- I can't think of any great tidbits to offer the boards off the top of my head...Perhaps this: My friend Morgan calls me the "queen of the acquired taste," I like to eat a lot of fairly weird foods. If it's pickled, chances are I love it. Kim Chee is one of my faves. Roommates have been known to make meat it in another room. I don't know what they had against fermented cabbage.

Wow, it is haircut season. I was inspired by Glen's story, so I did the same. Well, except I didn't document it with pics and video footage, lol. Plus, I cut it ALL off. I have a military thing going. I think I might bleach it and bring back "the Billy Idol"
But like Hoblit, it's been a while...well, at least a year or so. My hair was past my shoulders. Also, I haven't noticed how tall my forehead is getting, because I part my hair in the middle and the bangs kind of hide it.

QotD: I don't know about odd things...that's pretty subjective., so here are two sort of obscure things. I was a life guard on the North shore of Long Island in the late 70s. Also, I logged thousands of miles in canoes in Canada, Maine, Minnesota and Alaska in the mid 70s.
