Are there any Songfighters near Chicago?

Links and other hanky panky that doesn't have to do with anything in particular.

Are there any Songfighters near Chicago?

Post by Niveous »

I'm gonna be in Illinois for a few days next week. Are there any SF'ers in the area?

 We're a good 6 hour drive from Chicago. Too bad we're not closer, I'd love to meet you!

About a 3 hour drive from Chicago. Do-able for sure, but there would have to be beer, brats, and blues clubs on the agenda.

You should come to Indianapolis instead. Then it would be doable.

I wanna bump this thread up again as well.

July 23rd - 25th Nick Cave and his band will be playing in Chicago. Our drummer is dead set on going with his girlfriend. He has nowhere to stay at the moment... so, if anybody else is going and is getting a room, he might be able to swing half... yadda yadda. Just PM me if anybody else is going to be in the area for any reason...

If not, no biggie...like I said, he's dead set and he'll figure something out.

Ok Hoblit, don't tease me like that! I went to the Nick Cave website and I don't see any dates listed for Chicago. Where are you getting your information?

Dang.

Why is everyone so far from Chicago? Why can't my job have a business meeting closer to Songfighters?

I'm just going on what my drummer said. I'll ask him more about it on Friday.

Grinderman...but I had known that...I just couldn't remember the name of the band. Our drummer is a Nick Cave nut and doesn't care what band he's fronting.

Chicago is great! I done grown up there, but I'm too far away at the moment to show you the sights. Check out the Art Institute fer sure. I'd say The Bean is worth seeing too. Will you be there over the weekend? If so, definitely check out the long-running, ever-changing, 30 plays in 60 minutes "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind." It is AWESOME!
