Thanks for all of your suggestions everyone. I've installed my software on a P4 (was a P3) and it's better. Still choppy but tolerable. I think I will get a better video card, but I'll wait until the Boxing Day sales happen...

Cheers!

Does anyone in the know have anything bad to say about this card?

Cheers!
I've been doing some research on Video cards and from what I've heard and checking on the forums this is a useful card if you are gonna do some 3D graphics, but can cause issues when trying to do other things. I know that when using Cubase it'll potentially have pops and clicks. Really a gaming card. From what I've heard and discussed so far (looking into this myself) the bomb seems to be Matrox.

Here are some links: http://www.matrox.com/mga/workstation/v ... s/g450.cfm

450 series is the basic one, but stable and gives good usage especially for your needs to instill music to video. Ram will still be a factor when dealing with editing, so this will also something you will need to instill. But also has dual head display for the Cubase user. This is the low end of the spectrum.

This is a step up from the 450 and is meant for editors. Dual head display and such.

Now the big thing with these cards is the fan. In these cards it is a heat sink so there is no added noise to the system. Stay away from the fans. Not sure of the prices, but from what I've been told they are affordable for entry level pro market cards and the dual head output makes it that much more sexier. Check out the whole site to see the other styles of cards, but I think you'll find these guys impressive. Think of the Radeon to Matrox as the SoundBlaster to M-Audio. That's the way I'm leaning right now. Matrox. Also from what I understand the best prices for these cards are on line. Hope this helps.

Oh ya and unless you are doing 3D graphics stick to a 2D card. This greatly reduces potential issues. More Ram is better dude. You need a lot to get into the editing.
Good thread dude.
