I've honestly never enjoyed Rush, which is strange because I'm a total prog junkie. Neil Peart is a great drummer, but his teaching methods are pretty weak from what I've seen in his DVDs.
Two things I should put out here for potential/current drummers -
Drummerworld - a great place to find exciting drummers and links to their bands.
Josh Freese - one of my current favorite drummers ... very tasteful, but if you check him out on Youtube, you can find some
footage of his chops. Wow.
