you mentioned video game music.
here is a site where you can download almost any soundtrack to any video game. they have also started adding anime soundtracks too. the only thing is that you have to click on a separate page for each song to download it. but it's free music. someone at square contacted them, though, and they had to remove the final fantasy stuff, but i got it all before it was removed.
one of my favorites in terms of music is ff4 (especially "celtic moon", which is a recording of the main themes with real instruments, as opposed to the SNES sounds).
