Oh shit! This is the sweetest collab I've done yet. Great job! This sounds pretty convincing, for fake German. You did stick "NEIN!" in there a few times, I think. Wow. I like the falsetto part over the piano chords. We should do some more of this. I wish this were up on a thread that gets more attention. This does remind me vaguely of Falco. I hadn't seen that side of my song at all.Billy's Little Trip wrote:Please, much to dancing at now: LOAD OF ORTS - ACOLYTELord of Oats wrote:If you want to take my track and add vocals to it, I hereby waive the portion of my copyright that doesn't allow you to do that, i.e., go ahead. I found myself making up German words and singing along, even though I don't spanka the douche. I'm hoping it's just a quick passing interest, but I think i want to add lyrics to it.

HaHa, I hadn't seen that side of myself either. It sounded so funny I was trying not to laugh. I think I said Rasta once, lol. By the way, there are two track done just once each on the fly. can you believe I didn't write it all out on paper first?Lord of Oats wrote:Oh shit! This is the sweetest collab I've done yet. Not by me! That was just before my time here at Songfight! - but I discovered that one while researching your songs for Phil's Hxaro. Great tune! I think it is one of your best. I wanted to do a cover of it - but I couldn't understand what most of the lyrics were.Heather. Redmon. wrote:QotD: I think the Hell Yeahs' Say the Word was under appreciated.

I definitely heard "Rasta" the first time I listened. This is pretty damn good for being improvised. I forgot to mention, not only do I like what you did with the quiet piano section, but the way you segued into it is also great, if not better. Of course, I may have helped to. I think I lent this piece a pretty good dynamic structure.
So now, I find myself digging through my old catalog, trying desperately to find another instrumental for you to add your magic to. I think Load of Orts might have some potential as an artist. I think we ought to enter one of the fights as soon as you get a chance.

It's a bass guitar with the bass tone turned all the way down, recorded direct-line in to a tascam 4-track.Lord of Oats wrote:It's a guitar, right? Is it a nylon? But dishonestly, here is a song that was recorded about 14 years ago, and 1 person got to hear it when it was finished:

If you ever get the urge to cover it for fun, the lyrics are here

I love your track, JR! The drums and guitars sound awesome - the tones, the parts and the playing. I wish I could drum like that! Also, congratulations on pulling off some vocal harmony. You're going to be a monster, kid!jolly roger wrote:QOTD: I think Convalescence was overlooked because of its rough mix. It's still one of my favorites, but not many people could appreciate it.
Another 55 Minute Frenzy has come and gone. I'm really enjoying running this. You can hear this frenzy's songs here.

Could you imagine a whole album of songs with lyrics that have absolutally no meaning?Lord of Oats wrote:I definitely heard "Rasta" the first time I listened. Maybe I should look up one of those Star Wars languages. I heard that everyone of the made up languages in the Star Wars movies actually translate to real words, even wookie.

That's funny John. That's also the first time I heard that song and I almost covered it because of all the cool places mention in the song that I love. But the reason I covered "take a pill" was because it was an unplugged acoustic tune and I wanted to do a 180 on it. plus I really like the show 24, which is what it's about. But yes, "Say The Word" caught my ear immediately.Caravan Ray wrote:Not by me!
