Question of the Day: Are you going to the fair? I don't know how things go out your way, but up here it's fair season. The Sandwich Fair is the closest to us, and it's Columbus Day weekend. We'll be there on Sunday. The kids are psyched. So yeah: Are you going to the fair?

Welcome to October. It's a typical work day for me. A little busier than normal, maybe. Still enough time for me to get the Roll Call going, though.

Spent 4 hours at the Atlantic Antic street fair yesterday. It's a big deal in Brooklyn. Awesome food, live music, belly dancers, balloons, roasted corn on the cob. Perfect weather.
This weekend is Open House NY with tons of stuff to do (you know, usually it's pretty sleepy in this town).

qotd: Hoblit does not do fairs or carnivals. Every once and a while a female can talk me into it but I still go very reluctantly and even then only on the promise of a good band. (Saw Travis Tritt at the last fair I was talked into)
October 1st. Today marks the first day PIP is no longer required on Florida Vehicle Insurance. Personally I'll be keeping it. It came in handy when I got nailed by a car while riding my bike last year.

I went to a small one in Conn. a while back, that was fun and interesting.
Does the Rennaissance Festival count? We are going to that.

I've been busy with new computers, new blogs, rare Pokemon and busy work days. Oh well. Read my new blog. http://thefightsongs.livejournal.com
QotD:
Probably, I always seem to be going to fairs and festivals. I think I'm going to a fall festival later this month.

Probably no fair as I'm not that big on them, really. I saw fireworks from the Topsfield Fair over the hi-way Friday night on my way back from a wedding in Peabody, Mass. Neat surprise. I am going to Albuquerque this week and it's balloon fiesta time there as well. It's neat to see once if you ever find yourself out that way.

Our State fair is at the end of August until Labor Day and we faired it up! Ya never know what kind of weather you're gonna get here in Minnesota in October, so I think that's why it's in Aug/Sept. Street fairs are usually in the summer too.
January brings Winter Carnival here in Saint Paul with an ice palace and everything. I've never been because I cannot grasp the concept of standing around in below zero weather, looking at ice sculptures!?!
I worked on a spreadsheet all day long today and my eyes feel like they're bugging out.
Spencer had his first picture day at school. I bought him a cute sweater to wear, but he always has to get dressed all by himself. Phil called me at work when Spencer got home to tell me that he had been wearing his sweater backwards all day. That should make for a cute picture...

missed it this year, but it's always entertaining and certainly more than an eyeful.jack wrote:
Folsom Street Fair.
most of the fairs in san francisco have run their course for the summer, although hardly strictly bluegrass is more a festival than a fair, and that's happening this weekend and it's free.

Here.
The local fair is in early summer here. But we usually go to the street fair Labor Day weekend, and yesterday I joined Seamus for the Adams Avenue Street Fair in San Diego. My kid went on a tilt-a-whirl for the first time. That was fun!
