Complain about your schedule. Apparently people like that sort of thing.

I never really got into comic books, and the little comics they print in the newspaper are atrocious. On the other hand, I love Toothpaste for Dinner.

QOTD: Archie, man!!! I've always like those comics, except how they don't make a lot of new ones. Garfield has always been a favorite. Dilbert's cool too.

QOTD: I guess I liked comics when I was 6 or 7 as much as any 6 or 7 year old kid would. Nowadays, I'm a huge Johnny Ryan fan. His takes on classic literature via comics (usually using other comic characters like Archie or Garfield) are bizarre, offensive, wrong, and HILARIOUS. I have every strip he's had on his site saved to hard drive. Blecky Yuckerella is pretty funny, too, and was until recently featured in the Portland Mercury.

Oh, MAD was awesome! I also love Sergio Aragones, in addition to Don Martin. It was very sad when Bill Gaines died.
you might enjoy my song for the title "Mad City" - check the archives :-)
Hah! Nice!

no comics, except octothorpe. I got one of the first twenty-five or so copies, I think, around... June 2005?. some fantagraphics stuff: jimmy corrigan is an amazing novel, jim woodring's Frank, league of extraordinary gentlemen, frank miller, so on. eh.

today was my sister's 24th birthday, and she got engaged! now I can call her babydaddy her fiancé, instead. so... kind of a mixed blessing. I like "babydaddy" more. I think he chose today so he only would have to remember one day, which is smart.

Well, I just ordered me an Octothorpe combo. Can't wait to dig in! Who else has something to sell - maybe I'll go on a (teeny) binge?

Ross - That's a really good tune, I was smiling the whole time. :)

JR - Bob Montana, the fella who created Archie comics, did so while going to high school in my home town and many of the characters were based on real people there. The Thinker statue is still there but the old high school has long been used as the city hall.

Anti M - Add Al Jaffee to the list of greats too. I know that Don Martin and Dave Berg have died but haven't looked to see who else has. Gettin' kinda bummed. Translation: feeling old. (The worlds oldest perpetual 14 year old, that is!)
Bringin' the stink since 2006.

OK - I've ordered me some Jim Tyrrell and some Jolly Roger CDs. Who's next? Huh? I'm going away for a week and looking foward to a mailbox stuffed with music from my peers when I return. Get Mr. Cheapo while his creaky wallet is open!

QOTD:
I don't enjoy anything that involves reading for entertainment.
...well, except for Song Fight forums of course.
