qotd: if i was going to visit you in whatever corner of the world you live in, what restaurant would you take me to that offers good food at a good price, and why?

it might be nice to have a little list of spots to keep for future reference.
Aranda's #2

Reasons I would take you there:

1) Cheap Mexican food
2) Really good Mexican Food
3) Last time I was there, they had a waitress who looked like a taller, hotter, low-maintenance version of Jessica Alba

I just woke up. This is the first time since last week I've gotten more than 4 hours of sleep in a night. It feels good.

qotd: Probably Greek's Pizza just off campus. But of course, I'd have to show you The Heorot, which is probably the best bar in all of the midwest.

Work's in something of a lull since we're in that weird period between feature freeze and the start of QA for our 1.0 release. So I'm mostly thinking about design work for the next version of the system, which I'm in no position to start doing any visible work on.

qotd: you're kidding, right? Cheap, good food in San Francisco? I don't think I've ever even had lunch for under $7 here.

It's gotten a lot mellower (read: less picky about sustaining a rowdy & fun atmosphere with the choice of dancers) over the past few-four years. It ain't no Union Jacks, but then, it never was.

Oh, was that sarcasm? I didn't read it as such. Use those emoticons, people! I'm dense!
While I caught the jab at the labor laws as possible sarcasm...I absorbed the rest of the Saturday morning ritual as truth. Hey, I like cracker barrel as much as the next highway traveler, I too wouldn't have included it into my local culture's feasting exhibit.

Right! I personally am embarrassingly fond of Subway's "spicy Italian" sub. Plus, I get to say "I'd like a 12 inch spicy Italian" when I order it.

When I get a "12-inch #2" at my local deli, it isn't nearly as amusing.

pizza - golden boy in north beach, nizarios in the castro or inner richmond

A 12 inch spicy Italian probably has a really small penis.

Phil kinda took my answer with Emily's Lebanese Deli, but I think I would take Jack to the Loon for the atmosphere of the Warehouse District or the original Buca di Beppo (yeah, I know it's a chain, but we have the first one). There are a lot of excellent restaurants in the Twin Cities. I've heard that the King and I Thai is good, but I've never been. I'm surprised Phil didn't mention Best Steakhouse in the Midway neighborhood of Saint Paul.

Anyway, Phil is off to Maryland for SPX and I'm home with the kids all weekend. I took the day off work tomorrow so I can get Spencer off to school. This weekend I'm taking the kids to the apple orchard and pumpkin patch.

Just woke up. Doing this, doing that. Very important trip to the city today to pick up a new Prime. Vital!

QOTD: Menolas Menzes, an Italian restaurant. Its cozy, fairly inexpensive, and has friendly staff. Plus, any place that shouts me to free booze because I pronounce the dishes correctly (by rolling the r's. Arrrrrriabiata) is ok by me.

here

QOTD: good food good price - that's vague. Cafe Tu Tu Tango is a tapas place that is very good and moderately priced for what it is - rich in ambiance and yummy food you can take time with - a deep wine list and s'mores for dessert that you cook over a flame at your own dinner table.

I swear, every single time someone invites me to a tapas bar, I agree under false pretenses.
