Who sounds like What now?

Post by ken »

So I was listening to a morning talk show this morning and they were playing an old episode where Matthew and Gunnar Nelson were the guests. I listened to them a while and realized that they sound exactly like Frankie Big Face. Not only when they sing, but when they talk.

Check it out:

Have you ever noticed this about another Songfighter?

Everyone is always trying to ride Frankie's wave. :P
You're right though, the one on the left hits some Frankie notes.

Ken, yes...and in a weird coincidence...I stayed at a hotel in St. Petersburg (Florida) last Friday night and the guy who checked me in sounded JUST LIKE YOU. I'm not kidding...at first I had to place it. I realized his voice sounded familiar right off the bat but my first thought was that I met him before. Later I realized he sounded like you. Your voice is slightly deeper than his.

Eric Mc B sounds like Underdog I think, or some cartoon character, but I can never quite put my finger on it. The old cartoon, not the movie.

Hey Frankie, has anyone ever said that in your avatar, you look like a Simpsons-ized David Bowie? :)

Why do I hate that guitar sound in the Nelson clip? Too much compression? Because it out-Ovations an Ovation? Or am I the only one?

Yeah, what is it with all the Simpsons avatars, anyway?

I tried to Simpsonize my picture, but it made me look like some illiterate drunk that hangs out on Internet forums. Stupid Simpsonizer!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the very definition of an "Inside Joke", and a very good joke at that.

Kudos j$, this made me laugh out loud in a not wanting to resort to a simple emoticon kind of way.

OH what the heck.

Actually, I laughed too when I saw it yesterday, knowing Frankies constant Bowie vox comparison. In fact, I have found that J$ quite often manages to coax a chuckle out of me.

John "Mad Dog" Ambrosavage of Octothorpe sounds a lot like John Astin, who played Gomez Addams on the TV show. But only when he's performing.

I would have said the same. He doesn't seem ANY different on stage to me than he does having brunch in Queen Ann.

The first time I went to Seattle, it was for Song Fight Live. Spud picked me up at the airport. We then went to his office, and met up with Mad Dog.

I forget the first thing he said, but the first thing I said to him was, "Holy crap, it's that voice. The voice of Octothorpe."

That happened to me as well. Except my thought was more like, "Hrm, where do I know that voice from... OH YEAH, HIM!"
