This looks like fun!

Dionne Warwick - I Say a Little Prayer
Céline Dion - Power Of Love
Jamiroquai - Space Cowboy
Pokémon Theme (Original Version)

I have all of these mp3's if you need them. But I'm reluctant to illegally host them for download just yet.
Haikus are easy
but they don't always make sense

Times Up. I'll be giving out the assignments throughout the day.

You have a little while before I start that, so you have some time to PM me with "Please, please, please, can I do <insert songfighter's name>'s list." and your reasons why. Will it actually sway anything? Probably not, but it can't hurt.

Nivy, I'm starting to think that you like running these contest just to have people begging you and you can turn your nose up and say, denied. :P
....oh, and the bribes.

Actually, I want the surprise of seeing who you pair me up with. I pretty much like about every song that has been listed. In fact, I have compiled a list of most of these songs for my next couple of mix CDs. A few of these songs I've never even heard before and I now love them.

I agree with BLT. I'd rather get a favorite list because the GoM gods smiled upon me, not because I whined and begged. Besides, I'll accept any list I am given and accept it happily.

What is that, about 45 lists now? That's gotta be a record. I think we about doubled last year's turnout.

The bribe thing was just me being a smartass. This is all being handled by Randomizer.

Hey, you know, is there any effort made to avoid repeat assignments? I mean, it's bad enough that Adjuster, blue, mkilly and feldspar all got stuck with having one of their songs charcollated; it would really suck if they had to go through that traumatic experience again.

Maybe we ought to have something set up so people can swap assignments if necessary? I'm sure this'll happen sooner or later, though maybe I'm the only one that sees it as a problem.

Also, if Hoblit had gotten my list from the year where I had a Hoblit song on it. That would have been weird, huh? HUH??

I hereby promise that if I "randomly" get MK's list, I'll finally record that goddamn Sound of Music song. I cannot guarantee my wife's participation and, quite frankly, she's mostly the reason it never happened, SO GET OFF MY CASE ALREADY.

Out of curiosity, what happens if I do more than 1 of the 4 songs? Can I send in all of 'em, or just one?

Send them all.

And did I mention that you don't have to self host this year? Soul Tree Records is going to host all the songs!

PS- Thanks to a small glitch in my plans, I'll get out the assignments tomorrow morning...

I think most everyone already has the songs I picked, but if not, whoever gets my list will have to request an email of the MP3s... my web host has a big disclaimer saying they will cancel accounts if they find copywritten MP3s on the servers, but like I said, it's a piece o' cake to e-mail it. :)

of course, you own the copyright to your own MP3s.

copyright. not copywrite. copyrighted, not copywritten.
