I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone who has submitted covers of my songs so far. I've absolutely loved almost all of them so far. Perhaps I have a future as a lyric writer more so than an artist?

Don't get any crazy ideas, now.

I think, if anything, it shows that your songs have potential. Take your cue from the remakes in terms of melodies, especially.

Hey, weren't we supposed to have a deadline or something right about now?
sp00ns & middlemarch, your songs are coming along - I have to bring the bass home tomorrow and do bass parts, and then figure out how to get the gospel choir in here for the big finish on mm's song.
BTW, mm - you'll have the added bonus of everybody telling you they like your version of the song way better than mine

August 1st is the deadline.

August 1st is the deadline I'm aiming for, but you never know, things may take an upswing, once my step-son's wedding is out of the way, but I've got the backing track pretty much laid out, but as yet am undecided how to approach the vocals, don't know whether to attempt rap (as an emulation kind of thing) or just belt it out in my usual off-key kind of caterwauling style...
seems to me that a lot of guys hit this coverthing with a touch of contempt, my take is "whatever you think of Rone, or his music, or even the whole st.hraxo thing, you've gotta give it your best shot, otherwise it's an insult"
Consequently I'll be giving it my best shot, (even though my best shot is well below that of others, who are far more capable).
But as a footnote, I don't normally like to get involved in contentious matters, as being the age I am, I can get rather cantankerous, so I find it's best to sit back, do the thing by the time and then be damned for it...
(damn! smilies aren't working on this PC, there should be a LOL after that last sentence.)

Good to hear it's coming along. I'm really looking forward to this. I've been in the musical 'dumps' the last few weeks, so I'm looking to your cover to drag me out....no pressure, though.
Which song are you doing?

Let me remind people that you don't have to cover one of my songs, this was turned into a cover anybody kind of deal. I wouldn't want people turning away from this idea just because they don't like me.
I'm doing a cover of Posyden's Brimming With Tears although I'm not sure when.

I forgot about this thread, but looking back on it I'm curious. Which songs were the exceptions to the "I love this!" principle.

Butterfly Massacre. I'm really struggling with the mix on this one, but
this is at least listenable... enjoy!
Edit: improved mix uploaded... this one sounds nice but levels aren't as high as they probably oughta be... but the mix finally sounds right.

And here's my version of Eclectic Sp00ns' "
Don't You."
This one seems to have plenty of level... but the doteasy server seems to be getting slower and slower every day...
Enjoy!

SPECIAL DELIVERY FOR CARAVAN RAY

This was put together fairly quickly (like, this morning), but everything seems to be in tune, so... enjoy!

Wow! Thank you King!
You really jazz-ified it up a bit
(I think that one was a no-voter too - so it's a dux-hxaro too I guess!)
Oh well - if that's one we both know - perhaps we could have a crack at it at Santa Cruz?
Cheers!

Great job Caravan Ray. It sounds really good. I'm glad I was a part of that one.
