Okay, I'm in for "I Forgot To Remember", with a true story that just about every songfighter can relate to. :)

Warning: bring earplugs.

In for 'Get Me Back' with 90 seconds of popping, clicking punk pop. With a nonsense lyric especially for Blue ....

Who doesn't love irony? I recorded and submitted a song with "I Forgot To Remember" as the title. Unfortunately, I had forgotten that the actual title should have been "I Meant To Remember". Ah, yes.

It's 10:31pm, I have a 7:00am flight tomorrow morning to Sunnyvale, and I'm actually going to re-record the title line in the song and resubmit. That's how addicted to this I am. Yikes.

this week's entry

Sunnyvale! PM me for lunch and possibly showing up on an SOS track if you're staying overnight :D (we will provide the uke.)

IRC All Stars rides again this week, featuring:

Ken, guitar and vox
Bjam, vox
Spud, bass and vox
Glenn Case, vox
Rachel Layne, vox
Erin (Loyalty Day), vox (twice!)
Plat, guitar
Marcus Fuckin' Kellis, guitar solo
Drew Fuckin' Tetz, accordian
Future Boy, toy piano, rhodes
Blue, drums

In a fine little story about our long lost friends The Suzies, who stayed the night in the # barn of rock and were unfortunately eaten by the ancient plum trees that guarded the place.

I think a band of Ken, Bjam, and FB could rule songfight with an iron fist for months on end, btw. This is one sweet song.

I Meant to Remember = sent.

Holley isn't singing on this one, sadly. She'll hop in the ring real soon though, I promise.

Hope Oath and Suspicion is back with a killer rendition of "I Meant To Remember" complete with brass ensemble, acoustic sweetness, a circus monkey and the sound of a woodpecker. Except, um, without the woodpecker. And the other stuff.

BTW, I really do think Mr. Noah writes awesome songs. I have fun screwing them up.

I had some weird email troubles today and when i sent my song this morning i didn't know it didn't go through until lunchtime. so i brought it to work and emailed it from here. I hope it gets in anyway. does anyone else have experience with this sort of situation? do they make exceptions once in a while?

anyway, i wrote for "i meant to remember." and although the production is a little lo-fi, and i hit a bad note here and there, i think the song itself is pretty good.

i'm crossing my fingers.

Sunnyvale! PM me for lunch...
Sorry, would have loved to, but it was a new hire orientation -- lunch was part of the package, and I was already on a plane back by 4pm. But thanks for the offer, anyway! :)

screwing them up, nothing. i love handing these songs off to you. when they leave my computer, they're just little acoustic ditties, like scaffolding. and then you fill 'em all kinds of great stuff that i could never dream off. brass? too cool! a circus monkey? i really want to hear this now...

I'm in for Looking Good in Hand Me Downs.

Um...do you think that refreshing the page 200 times an hour makes the new songs get put up faster?

Thank god. I thought I was the only one that did that. I know it's ridiculous, but I do it anyway.

Rapid-fire refreshing is not doing it for me either. I wonder how many hits they get in the time between due-date and new-song posting?

It will be no secret soon, but here is me hamming up a great song and not having time to edit, redo, and mix as I wished...

uh, i'm definitely on that rapid-refresh bandwagon.
i always have this reaction when 8LO gets done with a tune, but oooooooooh yeaaaaah! (hey, look, you fixed the drums, too...) i can't play in rhythm, apparently.

just so the terminally curious can see, here's what it sounded like leaving france:

Just want to clarify that I'm not complaining about the refresh rate. I realize this is a labor of love for the fightmeisters and they do an awesome job.

It's just that I have NO FREAKING PATIENCE!!!

I really thought that the whole Songfight empire being down for the past 6 hours meant that it was in the process of being refreshed. (Or was that just my computer?)

I just KNOW it's gonna be up in the morning. I just KNOW it. Right? It is, isn't it? Isn't it?? Guys???

Also, argh.
