It got cancelled. So did the new Sam and Max. Because apparently there's a little more milk in the Star Wars tit. Bastards.sausage boy wrote:Dunno about best game ever, but its bloody near there. I'm not too sad about Sam and Max being cancelled. I'm sick of how every damn game on the market now uses expensive bland 3D instead of cheap vibrant cel animation.
Unfortunately, the S&M game lives, as the team on the LucasArts project quit LucasArts and formed their own game company, which is now working on a sequel. In glorious crap-o-vision, if their recently-released Bone game is anything to go by.

Surprisingly, the press release about cancelling FT2 amounted to "We cancelled it because it was 'not living up to expectations' (read: crap)."WeaselSlayer wrote:It got cancelled... Because apparently there's a little more milk in the Star Wars tit. Bastards.
And I agree, really. All the preview stuff I saw for it was pretty dismal.
S&M: Freelance Police, on the other hand, was looking awesome, and its cancellation remains a mystery.

I can't believe that was from just a 3-foot drop over carpet.

Running joke in my house:
Niv: Knock Knock
Max (younger son): Who's There
Niv: Kat
Max: Kat who?
Niv: Katamari (proceeds to roll up Max in a large ball while he flails helplessly)

Seriously, what's the deal with the hype around Halo? Man.
Everyone that I asked that when the first game came out would always talk about the "great multiplayer innovations" like being able to connect XBoxes together and have... what, 32 people in a game? Or other shit like that. Everything Halo did had already been done (and much, much better) on PC. (And for console-only folks, I'd still rather play GoldenEye or Perfect Dark.)

Okay, I took your advice and got the expansion. You're absolutely right, it's STILL worth the money. Nice game.NeilThrun wrote:Trust me. Its worth it. Never got the expansion, because something about it still being 20 bucks doesn't sit right with me. Seems like a lot for an expansion to a dated (if still good) game.

"War never changes..."
Fallout and Planescape: Torment are the two greatest RPGs I've ever played.
As for other topics...
Space shooters: Independence War 2, Freespace 2
stealth-based: Thief: The Dark Project, MGS3: Snakeeater
Scariest: System Shock 2, Alien vs Predator (Marine missions)
And now, a bunch of games I don't feel like coming up with categories for:
Swat 3
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Deus Ex
Arx Fatalis
Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War
Operation Flashpoint
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
Grim Fandango (All classic LucasArts stuff is a given)
Quest for Glory
And lastly, an Honorable Mention to the greatest typing tutor ever made:
The Typing of the Dead
