(i am opposed to generic store-bought costumes, by the way, even though the horse one was -- she just needed something to wear to school one day last year and my mom picked that up.) anyway i have constructed a unicorn's horn, of sorts, out of a rolled up piece of posterboard, and have wrapped it in shiny silver tissue paper and attached dangly sparkly silver decoration type things. the horse suit itself, i have just finished spraying front and back with the entire contents of two cans (one gold, one silver) of glittery hairspray.

........... pictures will follow.
welllllllllll... only about a month late, but i finally got around to uploading these pics from my camera to the pewter.

i always thought it would be cooler if those suits had the face hole appear to be in the mouth of the animal so it would look sort of like the kid is being swallowed by the animal. but i have no influence in the area of costume design...

Thanks for reminding me tivvy! I've been meaning to post these pics of our little dude. He just turned 2 a few weeks before Haloween and wasn't too keen on wearing his bat costume. He refused to let me paint his nose! He really enjoyed the trick-or-treaters though!

and the pumpkins that Phil carved

P.S. Your daughter is supercute and her unicorn costume kicks ass!

WTF is this Halloween shit all about. I don't like it.

I just had 3 little kids come to my house with masks on going 'trick or treat'

I told them to piss off.

Too much freaking American television if you ask me

Looks good, Ken. It's tempting to say something about the third leg R2D2 has...
I'll post pix later of my Darth Vader and Harry Potter off-spring.

I'm glad to no longer be sewing diamonds together.

No, that's called quilting. Art quilting at that. Awesome! You just threw that together? Is there anything you don't excel at?

Holy crap, Anti-M. That's awesome! When you told me about this project, I was skeptical. But G'damn, that's awesome!

Aw, thanks guys!

I don't usually go in for clowns or clown derivatives... but I this year I took part in this big, Halloween bus party that has a different theme every year. One year the theme was pirates. (Arrrrrrrrr!) This year the theme was clowns.

Wow, now that's impressive. You look great! It's a party on a bus? I've done a little quilting (via my sister) so I know what kind of pain that is.

I was Dorothy for school/orthodontist appointment/travel up to NYC. Then, after awkwardly standing around a fancy NYC hotel foyer, I changed into normal people clothes. (Apparently faux-posh people either grin madly or grimace and shake their heads at Halloween costumes)

My parents and I went to see Evil Dead: The Musical tonigh, and ohmagosh, it is fabulous. Silly gore, hilarity, crazy dances, everything. It really is great, if you're in NYC and feel like seeing a silly gory off-Broadway musical(with cheap seats, ~$25!) you should go see Evil Dead: The Musical.

Ken: Wooonderful costume. Very clever.

Anti-m: Very talented! You looked like a very classy clown.

I'm glad I got dressed up on Saturday, because by the time Halloween rolled around, I totally wasn't feeling it. I was the Angel of Death.
